Menyerah Diri

Sebuah Cerita Pendek

Laki laki itu kembali menatapku. Dia makhluk paling mengerti aku di muka bumi. Dia bukan malaikat, dia manusia biasa. Kadang dia kesal dengan kelakuanku, lebih banyak dia tersenyum dan mengatakan “maaf ya” atas semua marahku padanya disebabkan sifat kekanakanku.

Sejak awal ia tahu, aku sudah tak utuh lagi. Sebagian dari diriku hidup di masa lalu. Bahkan sebelum bertemu dengannya aku hanya setengah utuh. Aku tenggelam dalam luka hingga tak tahu bagaimana caranya bangkit. Aku mendorongnya berkali kali dari duniaku. Meniadakannya dari pikiranku, aku bilang padanya aku tak tahu kapan aku akan mencintainya. Jika mau pergi silakan lakukan. Dia tetap di sini, itu keputusannya. Ia bilang aku tak boleh menggugat keputusannya itu. Sekali seorang laki laki yakin, maka tak ada yang bisa menggoyahkannya. Jika ia goyah, maka itu bukan keyakinan.

“Kalau bukan karena Tuhan, aku sudah lama menyerah pada diriku.” Kataku malam ini ketika ia masih membaca buku dan aku menggambar.

“Tapi itu bukan hidup, aku hanya tidak mati.”

Dia masih membaca, tapi aku tahu ia mendengarkan. Begitu caraku ingin didengarkan, tak perlu banyak berkomentar hanya cukup mendengarkan. Sudah beberapa menit dan ia belum mengganti halaman yang sedang dilihatnya.

“Sejak mengenalmu, aku bukan hanya hidup. Tapi bahagia. Terima kasih.”

Ia tak menatapku. Tapi kulihat bibirnya tersenyum menatap buku.

“Sama sama.” Ucapnya.

Begitulah laki laki, sekali memutuskan untuk mencintai. Ia menjadikan cintanya sebagai janji, sebagai mimpi yang harus dijaga dan diwujudkan dengan segenap tenaga. Matanya tajam melihat ke depan, tangannya hangat melindungi. Dia bilang laki laki itu yang dipegang janjinya yang dilihat mimpinya. Ia tidak menyerah tentangmu, karena menyerah artinya merelakan keyakinannya sendiri. Mereka yang bisa melihat ke arah lain di saat yang sama mengatakan cinta padamu, bisa kupastikan itu bukan cinta. Tak lebih dari sebuah bualan. Seperti dongeng yang mudah diucapkan tapi tak diketahui bagian mana yang benar, semua sudah tercampur aduk dengan banyaknya kebohongan.

“Satu lagi..”

“Apa?” Tanyanya penasaran.

“Aku cinta kamu.”

Ia menghela napas lega. “Akhirnya..setelah sekian lama” katanya terkekeh. Aku mencubit perutnya.

Cerita ini terinspirasi dari pertanyaan yang masuk ke inbox saya dan belum saya jawab tentang bagaimana jika memiliki tunangan yang masih bercanda dan berhubungan dengan perempuan lain :) saya tak bisa menjawab banyak khawatir memberikan nasihat yang salah. Let's talk about Aruani.

ok, first of all: “bert’s influencing armin’s love for annie” STOP, this shit doesn’t even make sense!!!! eren inherited his dad’s titan and does he suddenly fell in love with his mom?????? does he suddenly fell in love with dina fritz???? I THINK THE FUCK NOT! y'all are just making such lame excuses…

leaving that aside, let’s talk about armin and annie’s relationship: armin has always cared about annie. annie has always cared deeply about armin. that’s a fact. you can clearly see that just by reading the manga or watching the anime.

annie always seemed to have some type of feelings for armin. he was the first to ever call her a nice person, apparently, and that seems to really got her.

she really cares about his opinion of her, and she usually doesn’t give a f*ck what people think of her!

when they’re trying to lure her underground she even asked him “when did you start looking at me that way, armin?“, armin and eren were both looking at her the same way (with expressions of fear and betrayal), but annie was only looking at someone and that someone was armin. she cares more about armin looking at her that way than she does about eren screaming at her.

not to mention that she only got caught because she wanted to be a good person to armin, she knew he was lying to her but he said she will turn into a bad person to him, and she absolutely didn’t want that.

also, she was ready to kill anyone who came into her way (even jean) and yet she spared armin immediately (even though she had multiple times to kill him).

and look at this scene below, i don’t think i need to say anything else, just look at her face:

now, let’s talk about armin. armin is a sincere person and he was being genuine when he told annie she’s a nice person.

he didn’t want to expose her, but he had no choice, you can tell that just by looking at his face, he looks so upset and guilt for doing this.

she asked him why he didn’t just reveal her before (because he had the chance, but he chose not to because he really wanted to be wrong).

look at how distressed and distraught he was, he didn’t want things to end like that. he still wanted to talk it out and if you really thinks he lacked any feelings for her, then you clearly missed out on something.

i also want to add how kind of depressed he is after all this shit. and mikasa knows that. look at how armin’s expression changed when hitch spoke of annie, and mikasa immediately looked at him. he looks SO sad and guilt, and she looks really concerned about him.

now, talking about the snk 106 spoilers: out of all the people armin could talk to, he decided to talk to annie. he was trying to deal with his own emotions and he didn’t want to bother anyone, so even though annie can’t answer him, he feels safe talking to her, and i believe he has been doing it all this time, i can totally see him going there and talking to her constantly…

i think i must stop here. i hope y’all can see how much deeper their relationship is. i’m not trying to make anyone ship them, but calling it a crack ship is absolutely nonsense.
