Nope. We have department offices and a meeting room for PD. But no teacher's lounge.
Does your school have a dedicated teacher lounge?
I’m talking a space where teachers can rest, relax and recharge. Not where the copy machine is. Not where dead technology is stored. A common space where teachers from different corners of the building can come together to eat, socialize, meet, or even plan?

The moment I realize the reason there haven't been more notable shootings before the recent three is because school was out for the summer, I started crying.
What a fucked up observation to make as I sit here in my empty classroom, struggling to finish my lessons the upcoming school year.
5 year olds will leave their homes, some for the first time, to come learn with me. They are babies.
As we prepare for the school year, all us teachers stuff in the hallway, discussing the shootings and just looking at each other because because we know what's coming.
As soon as the bell rings in a new semester across the country, children and teachers are going to die. It's not a matter of if. They will. I might.
So back to lesson planning, I guess.

This site is not only full of deliberate disinformation and hoaxes, it’s rife with anti-intellectualism.
I encourage people to research anything that sounds fantastic and totally different than what they were taught - even in my posts.
If you see a blog post with startling information, do the CRAAP Test! (developed by Sarah Blakeslee and her team of librarians at California State University, Chico)
Currency: What is the copyright, publication, or posting date? Does the date matter? Is the information outdated?
Relevance: For what audience or level is the information written (general public, experts/scholars, etc.)?
Authority: Who is the author, creator, or publisher of the source or what organization is responsible for the source? How do you know if the author is an expert on the topic (e.g examine the author’s credentials and/or organizational affiliation)?
Accuracy: What indications do you see that the information is or is not well researched or provides sufficient evidence? What kind of language, imagery and/or tone is used (e.g. emotional, objective, professional, etc.)?
Purpose: Why was this source written (e.g.to inform, teach, entertain, persuade)? How might the author’s affiliation affect the point of view, slant, or potential bias of the source?

I feel this on a spiritual level. I bought dollar store Halloween decorations last year. Kids fucking tore them up or took them down and threw them away. So fuck that shit. I don't decorate for holidays anymore.
lowkey hate how i can’t just have nice things
that’s not even a figure of speech, i literally cannot have nice things.
post student work in the hallway? some fuckass kid is gonna tear them and rip them up because they just want to cause destruction. (and some other fuckass kid gonna stick their fucking nasty chewed gum on it because they’re just nasty fucks)
nice bulletin board background? some fuckass kid gonna poke holes in it and tear it up with a pencil so you have to replace it come next year.
nice washi tape on your board? some fuckass kid gonna pick it off the board so it no longer has any adhesive and it just kind of droops there until i cut it off.
simple, clean labels on the laptops and laptop carts? oh you know some fuckass kid is gonna peel those off too.
a clean carpet? nah. multiple fuckass kids are gonna drop food, crumbs, candy wrappers, pencil shavings, and bits of paper all over that shit.
use a document protector and tape it down? didn’t you know some fuckass kid is gonna rip that shit because they know damn fucking well that the reason you taped it down with a document protector was to keep it nice, and we can’t have nice things.
