Now when I think about it, maybe Cameron writing and sending those 19 pages character breakdown wasn't him seriously thinking about the sequels - maybe it was just his geek/hyperfixation mode activated, muahahaha

Sorry to giggle over this but it's so funny when you picture Cameron explaining Nova/A:BA to Norton like:

What if he doesn't mention Alita in interviews nowadays because he hides his hiperfixation. Hidding a hiperfixation in public feels relatable. That's totally not the case but sounds better than him not caring anyway. Yeah let's believe he's just hidding his Alita hiperfixation.

I wanted to add that, from the interviews, the odds seem to be actually in favor:

He loved the costume!

2. He apparently liked what could be done with that role in the sequels and seems Cameron even wants him to help write the character:

I'd also want to use this opportunity to point out the fact Cameron wrote friggin 19 pages to explain a character to the cameo actor that has like what, 1min of non-speaking screentime? (And not that much more through his puppets. )

If this doesn't prove James Cameron was (and I hope still is) seriously thinking about Alita beyond the first movie, then I don't know what is.

It's just incredible how the silhoulette/general shapes of that thing gives impression of Zalem, yet when you look up close it's made of different stuff.

Thought how Alita launches herself at Grewishka, then in 2018/2019 the creators of Alita were using words such as "franchise launching" - during that period, Fox was under process of being merged into Disney and stuff just weren't working properly at that time.

So yeah, we know how the story went in both cases.

But will the franchise "get a new body" and come back stronger than ever?
