Itâs almost as if pansexuality has consistently been used to actively erase bisexuality because people hate us so goddamn much

Proposing âviolet bisexualâ as an alternative to âfebfemâ.
Febfem is a radfem term with transphobic meaning. I wanted to still be able to have a label for myself to show that Iâm a bisexual sapphic that does not date men. I chose âviolet bisexualâ because violets are used to symbolize sapphic love. Since âviolet bisexualsâ would focus on sapphic love, sapphic relationships (romantic and/or sexual), etc. I felt it would perfect. Being a violet bisexual is about sapphism, focus on women/non-men, exclusion of men, and empowerment while still accepting and loving our bisexuality.
Some notes:
bi men/bi achilleans would not be allowed to use this term. âviolet bisexualâ would be/is a term that stemmed from myself and other bi sapphics not wanting to date men because of male trauma, misogyny, and the patriarchy.
bi lesbians this term is not for you!!!
this term is also not for radfems or terfs!! you have âfebfemâ.
asexual and aromantic bisexuals and biromantic can use this term! it isnât just about sapphic love. for instance, if you donât do romantic relationships but still would like to have a sexual life that excludes men you can use this term.
any bi sapphic who doesnât date men due to ANY reason can use this term. this includes, but is not limited to: not dating men due to
-trauma
-experiences
-wanting to decenter men in your life
-having a preference for women
-just not wanting to date men
If any bi sapphic would like to give their opinion on this proposition please do!

*smacks you over the head with a poorly put-together history textbook I made in crafts* LEARN BISEXUAL HISTORY BEFORE YOU ACT KNOWLEDGABLE
âBisexualâbeing emotionally and physically attracted to all genders.â - GLSEN in fucking 1998
âDo not assume that bisexuality is binary or duogamous in naturs [...] In fact, donât assume that there are only two genders.â 1990 Bi Manifesto
âBut there are also many bis, such as myself, for whom gender has no place in the list of things that attract them to a person.â 2002
âBisexual people are those for whom gender is not the first criteria in determining attraction.â 2003
âAssuming that all bisexuals are never attracted to trans or genderqueer folk is harmful, not only to bi individuals, but to trans and genderqueer individuals who choose to label themselves as bi.â
âBisexual: A person who is attracted to people regardless of gender (a person does not have to have a relationship to be bisexual!)â 2003
âThese data support the argument that, for some bisexual individuals, sexual attraction is not gender-linked.â 1992

Resources about bisexuality
I have put together some resources about bisexuals, bisexuality, our history, our community, the issues that we face and about the infamous bi/pan discourse.
Here you have a folder with a ton of PDFs about the most various topics regarding bisexual people (from biphobia to the health problems of bisexual people to studies about bi youth to representation in media to asylum seeking).Â
It has quite a huge section with entire books about bisexuality that you can read completely for free. In order to access all the contents in an easy way I heavily recommend using the guide to the folder, in which you can find a link to each PDF organized by topic and by number.
Here you have four google docs that I have put together:
Defining bisexuality (a collection of definitions of bisexuality by various bisexual activists and associations)
The Cultural Impact of Pansexuality (a collection of statements about pansexuality made by pansexuals or mainstream media outlets/celebrities like Marie Claire, Teen Vogue, the Rolling Stone and Miley Cyrus, among others)
Statistics, studies and articles about bisexual-specific issues (a collection of studies and articles about the issues that bisexuals face)
Debunking pro-pan arguments (a short thing I wrote doing exactly what the title says)
All these resources are also linked in this carrd.

i would like to (respectfully & with credit) repost a specific flag on twitter that isnât well-known, but is personal, relevant, and very important to this blog:

aya @/bizexuaiityâs bi girl/bi woman flag!! (and their statement on the flagâs creation)
[NOTE: at the time of writing this post (may 2022), aya currently uses they/them pronouns (only?). if this changes in the future, i will edit if i ever think to, but there would not be any misgendering already here.]
[ID: two identical flags and three screenshots. the flags follow the bi format, with the first 40% being a soft pink, the middle 20% being a complementary brown, and the third 40% being a desaturated lilac/lavender purple, close enough to the shade of pink to match it nicely. the first flag includes a venus symbol, which represents women, and uses a heart instead of a circle at the top. the second flag is blank without it.
the first screenshot is of @/bizexuaiityâs tweet, featuring the flags, which reads: âi will be using the bi-girl flag that i created to celebrate bisexual women. <3 it is absolutely inclusive of all bisexual women - transgender, nonbinary, demigirls, and people who feel any type of connection to womanhood.â
the second screenshot is of their curiouscat, and is cropped to show that part of an anonymous submission reads: âalso, unrelated but i LOVE your bi girl flag!! iâm assuming you made it specifically for international womenâs day (march 8th)? itâs so gorgeous and i plan on using it for personal stuff (all year round) if thatâs okay, providing credit is no issue!!â
the third screenshot shows part of their response regarding the flag, which reads: â& YES i made it for international womenâs day specifically & to validate bisexual women because they deserve to feel seen & visible especially because the bimisogyny they experience is utterly disgusting and i donât want them to feel ashamed for⌠literally being bisexual women. iâm happy that you like the flag a lot, though ;__; feel free to use it and honestly credit isnât needed unless someone specifically asks for the flag source!!â /End ID.]
^^ please tell me if thereâs anything i did wrong with the ID paragraph and iâll correct it ASAP. ^^
that anon was me btw, because of course it was!! hehe!! đ
so as you can tell, this flag is anything but unrepresentative of my primary blog. iâve used it in many icons iâve made for myself since it was created 2-3 months ago and i think itâs absolutely gorgeous!! itâs one of those pink & purple flags that allude to womanhood nicely without feeling inherently feminine and i appreciate the design choice on that. feel free to ask me to make icons using it if youâd like and i would be more than happy to!! i can also include the symbol with them, itâs really easy to do. :)

This is the Rage-Filled Bisexual pride flag!
Red is for being fed up with bi erasure and biphobia
Dusty purple is for getting sick of biphobia and stereotyping perpetuated by people in the LGBT community as well as by cishets
Purple is for knowing that bisexuality is inclusive of trans & nonbinary people and getting tired of having to correct people on that
Free to use with credit!

Gothic Bi Flag â°ď¸
Boy was this a popular request! I hope everyone likes it. I tried to retain the original colors of the Bi Flag in it, while altering them some, and obviously making them darker. I hope you all enjoy it!
These flags are made to be used by anyone who identifies as bi, excluding terfs, transphobes, truscum/transmed, ddlg, cgl, maps, and other gross people.Â
