This conversation is most likely useless to be had in tumblr of all places, since people here do not want to have constructive conversations and refuse to admit they themselves might've made a mistake or be wrong at any point, but here it goes:

Käärijä shouldn't have danced in that video and his apology could have been better. However, the "no war" statement clearly shows his actual views on the situation, as SVT probably didn't want to have him on stage longer than necessary (so anything longer than that was most likely impossible).

What I'd like to point out, is the possible and probable involvement of YLE (the finnish broadcasting union) in the making of the statement - YLE probably didn't want him to make a statement that was too political, especially since eurovision is still going on, so he had to just say that the intentions of the video wasn't to show support or make a political statement. This same attitude of YLE can be seen in Windows95man and Henri Piispanen, who are representing Finland this year - they have been vocal about wanting israel to be excluded, and their support of palestine (while political statements were prohibited during UMK, Henri had painted palestinian flags in his nails). I think I remember reading somewhere, that they are pressured to keep their opinions on the matter quiet. So I think the situation is more fuck YLE.

And yes, Käärijä shouldn't have agreed to dance with her, he is a grown man and should be called out for it - he was, and he is, and he has stated that he understands why it was wrong of him. Like it has been said already, his nature is to be kind towards people, and he most likely didn't think twice about doing something nice to another person (i'm 100% sure he doesn't know any of eden golan's personal views and beliefs and I hope he educates himself). However, people acting like he's this horrible person who deserves everything bad that happens to him, are filled with social media brainrot. Touch some grass, and try to think critically. It was awful to see the video, especially as a person who's immediate reaction to everything is usually just pure tumblr induced brainrot, but people's reactions are far beyond the actual severity of the situation. I assure you, nobody outside your own social media bubble views things so black and white as some of yall do.
