Shoreline Mafia's OhGeesy Hits the Trap for "Heavy" Video
It’s 2018, and Cali is more active than ever. Continuing their incredibly impressive rise, Shoreline Mafia take a brief break from promoting their current tour to share the John Rawl-directed video for a single titled “Heavy.”
A solo effort from Shoreline Mafia star OhGeesy, “Heavy” blends the group’s rebellious West Coast attitude with a speaker-knocking trap beat; the clip was also originally teased a couple months ago on social media. Notably, the visual and single come to us as the Shoreline Mafia crew prepare to jump-start the promotional campaign for group-member Rob Vicious’s forthcoming Traplantic solo project. With each individual Shoreline Mafia rapper blowing up on their own and the entire group blowing up as one collective, it won’t be long until they’re filling the headlining slots of festivals across the globe.

Suspect is Joined by Jesse James Solomon & Skepta on ‘One Way’
The OTB head brings his energetic flow to a cold rap instrumental one again, penning another irresistible hook and some quotable bars. He's not alone either, once again drafting in the help of past collaborators Skepta and Jesse James Solomon, who both bring their own unique styles. The trio all come from different worlds on the UK rap spectrum, but the chemistry on this one is undeniable.

Nubya Garcia - Source (Maxwell Owin Remix)
Wasting no time since last month’s Brownswood compilation of new London talent, We Out Here, saxophonist Nubya Garcia – who featured on five of its nine tracks – has just dropped her second EP. When We Are EP features long-time collaborators Femi Koleoso on drums, Joe Armon-Jones on keys and Daniel Casimir on bass, and is a marked departure from the hushed environs of the jazz club into the propulsive movement of the dance floor.
This club-to-club transition is exemplified by Garcia’s enlisting of Wild Oats regular K15 and producer Maxwell Owin on remix duties. Owin, who collaborated with Armon-Jones on last year’s Dilla-influenced Idiom EP, takes the frenetic beat of ‘Source’ and flips it into a Rhodes-heavy slow burner. Opening with a wash of ambient chords, Garcia’s languorous saxophone lines float through the reverb and a pared-down cross stick beat. The dance floor is ever-present though, with a muddy synth-bass soon coming to the fore as Garcia’s meandering melodies intensify. All groove, Owin’s remix provides a sultry counterpart to the original’s intensity.
When We Are is out 8th March – buy from Bandcamp.

NOAH Launches Anti-Nazi League Hoodies & Tees
Noah is a brand known for taking up good causes — just look at its recent coat drive or explanation of the dangers of single-use plastic – and its latest capsule is another political statement. Following on from a joint release with Union LA last year, the New York-based brand has expanded its collection of Anti-Nazi League pieces, with two long-sleeves (in white or yellow) and two hoodies (in red or gray).
All pieces feature Noah’s name above the Anti-Nazi League arrow and the organization’s name down the arms. The release is accompanied by an article on the brand’s blog which explains the history of the organization: “They served as a unified front against fascist, racist, and neo-Nazi groups that were trying to gain power in the U.K., as well as serve as opposition to fight the street gangs being organized by the National Front.”
The blog also goes on to detail why that message is still so important, and why Noah has chosen to release this capsule dedicated to it:
“We want to start this year with a reminder to remain constantly aware of the racist actions and dog whistling of those in power now, and to push back against them. We’re up against an administration that would like nothing more than to set us back. Now is the time for us to put our idealism for a better tomorrow to work. Get involved. Fight fascism. Call out racism. Speak truth to power. As the Anti Nazi League has said: “Love Music. Hate Racism.”
The collection is available now from Noah’s web store, with long-sleeves priced at $48 USD while hoodies cost $148 USD, and there is also a $6 USD sew-on Anti-Nazi League patch.

Concepts & New Balance Break Open the New 991.5 "Lake Havasu" Model
After a year-long partnership, Concepts and New Balance unveil its last collaborative model that centres upon the 991.5 silhouette. Named “Lake Havasu,” the UK-made sneaker’s design boasts premium suede and nubuck uppers in grey shades, gold and tan paneling, white midsoles, as well as gum outsoles for good measure. Reflective accents are also observed on the mesh tongue, heel tab, and “N” logos.
This rendition draws inspiration from a “bizarre story of an American businessman relocating the London Bridge to Lake Havasu, Arizona, as a tourist attraction,” expressed Concepts in a statement.  Take a look at the “Lake Havasu” 991.5 model above.

The Nike Air Force 1 & Air Jordan 1 Share a United Vision of Equality
A couple of Nike and Jordan Brand‘s most iconic silhouettes are next up to express the Swoosh’s view on equality. This month will see special editions of Nike’s Air Force 1 and the Air Jordan 1 with black and white contrasting colours.
The Air Force 1 Low is dressed in all-black with premium leather. Its “EQUALITY” stamp is placed on the heel of the midsole in white. Inside the tongue is an homage to Martin Luther King Jr. with a March 28, 1968 date stamp referencing his last-ever march. Moving onto the Air Jordan 1, black and white color-blocking splits the model in half for an eye-catching look. Similar to the Air Force 1, its “EQUALITY” calling is found on the heel in black lettering.
The “EQUALITY” editions of the Nike Air Force 1 and Air Jordan 1 are expected to drop on January 15, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, at select retailers. Take a look at the imagery above and let us know which one you favor.

Tom Misch Shares New Visual-Single for "Movie"
After announcing plans to release a debut album earlier this week, UK singer Tom Misch has now shared the visual interpretation of the project’s first single, “Movie.” The track showcases Misch’s distinct, harmonious approach to jazzy-soul which features his long-term collaborator Carmody alongside guest vocals at the start from his sister, Polly Misch. The song was conceptualized from classic movies and the unique charm that came with them. As for the Joshua Osbourne-directed video itself, it’s a gracious family affair that not only finds Misch’s sister at the intro but also features astonishing footage of his grandparents from 1945.
“The video for “Movie” is a special one for me” Misch explains, “but especially my dad as it contains old footage of his parents Margriet & Klaus which was shot around 1945 in various locations around Europe. My sister Polly appears at the start of the video as it is her spoken vocals at the start of the song and my mum Carol was the make-up artist for the shoot so it turned out to be a real family effort. Big thanks to Joshua Osbourne who directed the video and bought our collective vision to life!”
Meanwhile, his debut album Geography, is slated to release in April 6, 2018 and will find the singer exploring new musical landscapes including Disco, Soul, Hip-Hop and Jazz. You can also catch him on tour this winter in North America and Europe, full details can be found on his site.

Manik MC & Natty Wylah - Blue Afternoons
The 22-year-old Londoner is quietly gathering friends in high places, attracting lovers of poetry and hip-hop, with his deft lyricism, intricate wordplay and honest wisdom beyond his years. 'Blue Afternoons' is the next video to come from his debut EP, 'Midnight Express', which includes collaborations with UK heavyweights Jehst, Loyle Carner and Rebel Kleff.
“The track is a portrait of growing up in London,” Manik tells Clash. Featuring his longtime friend Natty Wylah, Manik explains that ‘Blue Afternoons’ is a return to more care-free times; a reminder that life doesn’t always have to seem so complicated. “I can be quite nostalgic, and you can hear that in the beats I choose. ['Blue Afternoons'] is a reflection on the times that shaped where I am now, as an artist and an individual.”
With testing times ahead, nostalgia often presents itself as a remedy. Watch ‘Blue Afternoons’ above. Source: Clash

OverDoz. & Miguel Collide for “Backstage”
At one point in time, the west coast eccentrics that made up the genre-bending, criminally-slept-on group OverDoz. had a legitimate shot at crossover success. Since then, the all-too-typical cycle of delays and major label struggles have kept them from reaching new creative heights and realising their commercial potential; thankfully, that tide appears to be turning in their favour.
Fresh off an impressive live BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge rendition of “Skywalker”and some collaborative efforts alongside KYLE, singing and songwriting superstar Miguel joins creative forces with his fellow Californians for “Backstage.” Released as the latest major single in support of OverDoz.’s anticipated major label debut LP 2008, “Backstage” is a melodic, crowd-moving groove about all the “cream of the crop” groupies that catch the collective gaze of the song’s creators; with these artists, it’s deeper than one night at a Holiday Inn Express.
You can stream OverDoz. and Miguel’s “Backstage” single above, while 2008 is on course to drop on October 27.
