Auburn is very clearly obviously certainly not 'human' in the way that the like... average person of teyvat might be. The most obvious traits being his pointed ears, sharp teeth, and of course his malformed eye-- beyond that, though... Auburns nails tilt more towards being claw-like, and there are the beginnings of a permanent black to the tips of his fingers and toes ( similar to arlecchino tbh ).
To be honest, in the grand scheme of Teyvats oddities, these are not particularly abnormal or head-turning...
But Auburn does not-- or rather should not harbour any non-human blood. There are no pointed-ear folk in his lineage, no surprise animal traits in his kin. In fact, no one else in his family -- in his entire clan -- has his golden eyes and fire-red hair.

Auburn is deeply afraid of genuine personal attachment to any person or place, never knowing what exactly he had done wrong as a child that resulted in the incident and his subsequent exile from his tribe; What followed afterwards were countless years of flitting in and out of civilization, a friendly face who was always on the outside looking in, an outlier and outcast; Someone you greet but keep at arms length, never closer. For years it's just been him and the Candle Spirit -- the idea of letting anyone closer is scary, to him, even if he doesn't consciously recognize it. He keeps people at arms length with a friendly and silly demeanor and steps back, and though ever-supportive, he'll take every step closer to him with a twice as swift step backwards, not for any self of self-loathing but merely preservation; of himself, unwilling to forge a close relationship only for it to crumble under circumstances outside of his control or understanding, and for the other party, mutely aware he's in some way a ticking time bomb and unwilling to be the cause of pain to anyone he holds dear. In this essay, I'll--

( frostwnd Willow ) Hand covered in frost, she reaches out to pinch the embers smoldering on his clothes out. "Stop it. You eat through our budget having to get new clothes."
Unprompted | @frostwnd
How glorious, the heat of battle! The burn of exhilaration in over-worked limbs, the smoldering of scorched grass, the soot stain of ash as it settles into his clothes -- So intoxicating is the thrill of battle, that Auburn entirely misses the fact that hes a few seconds from bursting into flames, himself.
" Ah-? Ah--! " A semi-floundering step backwards, and the bounty hunter quickly pats himself down in an effort to stamp out any remaining embers still clinging to his clothes. Assured he isn't about to break out in fire, he playfully sticks his tongue out at Willow.
" Aye, not my fault they don't make clothes fire-proof enough for the heat I bring to battle! Besides, ain't a rotating wardrobe the sign of a well-dressed gentleman? " those words might mean something, if it weren't for the forever tattered and burnt state of his clothes.

Vibing especially hard w/ this ongoing vibe of pyro being tied to concepts of rebirth and my accidental slip into this idea w/ Auburn being the vessel of a god in process of rebirth / reawakening hrrrghgrgghrgh

Stares. She'd never thought about the possibility of this kind of thing happening for those that fight with fire before-- needless to say, that looks pretty rough
Auburn returns the stare in kind for a long, long moment...
And then strikes a little pose. And then another. He'd grab a flower to hold it by its stem in his mouth to up the silly levels, but unfortunately every flower in a several foot radius has met its untimely cremation.

Auburn is standing in the middle of a field.
It's a nice day. A very nice day, in fact. The breeze is lovely.
He can feel it quite well, given he's currently mostly naked. There are many reasons one might stand nude in a field, but given the utterly scorched state of the area around him, and the tattered and soot-stained state of what remains affixed to him, the reasoning this time is probably a very flammable fight.
" ♬~♩~ I really really wish that someone would get in the business of making fire-proof clooothhinnngg ~♬~♩! " Hear that? It's the sing-song tune of misery.
