Shepherd and Victoria both went into the expedition (sort of) okay and both came out of it with grief. They both learned to love another person (platonically or otherwise, depending how you see it) and had that person forcefully taken from them because of "fate".

Would they go back and change what they did, if the opportunity arose?

Would Victoria spurn Strahdanya to save herself the pain? Would she throw herself into the love instead, trying to find another way, even if that meant betraying her friends?

Would Shepherd decide to close himself off? Would he try to distance himself from Sarnax knowing he'd never see him out of Barovia? Or would he try desperately to figure out how to keep him alive, even at the cost of his own life?

But they can't go back, and they probably wouldn't do anything differently. They'd thrash against the chains of fate and end up back where they were. Alone and hurt.

At least they're alive. Sarnax would want Shepherd to live. Strahdanya, at least in her final moments, wouldn't want Victoria to punish herself. Thats what she tried to save her from.

But its difficult when your heart dies with them.

I have 4 of the witchlight plushies (Frost, Gricko, Kremy, Gideon) and my niece loves to throw Kremy. She leaves the rest of them alone, even Gideon who I always have next to him. She just hates Kremy. I don't think its anything personal though because she hates my old chuck e cheese plushie too (but not my new one for some reason). Her hatred is hard to pin down, on account of her being 5, but Kremy Lecroux if ur reading this...watch out.
