people who act like el is going to hate will if she and mike break up as if she didn't extend her sympathy even towards BILLY.... as if she didn't forgive hopper for behaving so horribly towards her in season two. as if she's ever been mindlessly vindictive!!!

el is sweet and incredibly understanding. and, for the record, will from her perspective is never someone she expresses disdain for. he calls her out when she lies, but she does the same to him.

he's supportive to her. he says nice things to her, he encourages her, he worries about her. when the bullies destroy her diorama he's the one helping her pick it up and promising to fix it with her. (sidenote: in dustin's book, he could've hogged the phone when the party calls, but he immediately makes sure to include el.)

also. el heard will encourage mike to confess, so.... regardless what happens with byler, el is always going to know will was on her side. and mike is not just "el's boyfriend" either, he's known will for most of his life. they'd already been friends like seven years before he even met el. he's her brother, she's going to understand. they hate the idea of the byler-milkvan love triangle so much they mischaracterize every character involved in it.
