Eladrin are the link, that midway point between the fey ancestors of modern elves and those elves themselves. While technically still a type of elf, they are so in tune with the magic of the Feywild that if they but spend a few centuries there, they become True Fae. Prone to wild and sudden shifts in their whims, they are not only driven by emotion, but physically changed by it.

My friend Tiago asked me to make a simple, b&w portrait of his RPG character. But of course I got carried away. And had fun!

I got to work on a really fun commission for DavidLS (reddit). This is his Eldarin DnD character in autumn. The Eladrin are a race of elves who’s appearance is affected by the changing of seasons. I also worked on her spring appearance which I’ll be sharing with you soon.
Do you play DnD to? and do you create your own character portraits? I’d love to see some :D

Eladrin Eating
I don’t know all that much about Eladrin before 5e, since I haven’t played Second or Third edition and only one session of fourth in which I was a Dragonborn. Also Eladrin don’t seem to have made it to Pathfinder as far as I’ve seen. But one thing that seems to be consistent regardless of the creature type, is that Eladrin are always omnivores. Perhaps that should be our creature type, as it’s the most consistent thing about us, other than being connected to the elf god.

As One May Well Guess
and as my most recent post would imply, I have started reading up on the older editions’ rendition of Eladrin. What an interesting history for one playable species/race. We should have our own book by now.

So Mordenkainen’s book came out and I had to create a gal when I read up on the eladrin elves! This is Talon - a duo class monk&rogue criminal who can shift her form based on the seasons – and is 4′6″ of anger. Ready to punch anyone’s throat.
