We are a group of students from Gaza, trying to hold on to education in the hardest of times.

Despite the war, the displacement, the power cuts, and the constant sound of bombing, we insisted on continuing our studies, because we believe education is our only hope amid the destruction.

We rented a small shared study space, paying monthly from what little we had. It became our quiet corner to study, revise, and dream of a better future.

But now, we can no longer afford the rent for the coming months...

The war hasn’t just taken our homes, it’s trying to steal our future too.

We are treated unfairly, as if the right to education is a luxury. As if we don’t deserve to dream.

We’re not writing this to complain, but to ask for support that could keep a window of hope open.

Hello everyone, by now you've probably seen me sharing Bisan's campaign many times on my blog. I wanted to make an official post of my own highlighting her fundraiser.

Bisan reached out to me a few months ago, and we have become good friends. She is a very kind and caring person, even checking in on me when I have been unwell while she is in the middle of a genocide.

Bisan needs to raise £16,000 for her and her family, to cover the extremely high costs of food, medicine, and winter supplies. Bisan was able to get a new tent for her family, but with the cold of winter upon them, it does very little to keep them warm at night. Food and medicine are catastrophically expensive, and there is never enough to find or go around. Bisan has been trying to find flour for days to no avail, and she cannot find all of the medicine that her Father needs. Bisan herself has gotten sick multiple times over the past few months.

There is also the constant threat of bombings and gunfire around them at all times from the IDF. Bisan tells me that the shooting never stops, and it makes me worry for the safety of her and her family. Every day I message Bisan, to make sure her and her family are still okay. I worry constantly for my friend and her loved ones, but despite the horrific situation Bisan is in, she is an extremely kind and compassionate person with endless love in her heart for those around her.

So, if you have any money to spare, please consider donating it to Bisan's fundraiser. I understand money is very tight for a lot of us, and there are many campaigns that need our attention. But even the smallest donations will add up if enough people keep donating, so please do what you can. Donate whatever you're able to, share this to your blog, to your friends/family, to your other social media, anything you can do will help greatly. Please do not ignore my friend.

Bisan's campaign has been slowing down a lot recently, with barely any donations in DAYS. So far we have gotten her campaign to £13,819 / £16,000 which is amazing, and we are slowly nearing £14,000. I know we can make it to this number.

So, as an added encentive, for every $5 or more you donate to Bisan's campaign (with proof of donation), I will draw you something, with higher donations getting better quality work. I know I haven't posted any of my art in ages, it honestly hasn't felt right to post my own art with everything going on, but if you want an extra bonus for helping my friend then I will draw you something for donating. Running a few kilometers is normal, but running for many kilometers to try to get food is very terrible, especially with soldiers shooting, tanks firing shells, hundreds of thousands of people and dozens of martyrs A lot of fear, screaming and trying to get food and a live meeting. I experienced all of this today in the Zikim area, the far north of the Gaza Strip. It was very, very terrifying, more than you expect. It was as if I was in a survival horror movie. The occupation is the one killing and the people are the victims. My heartbeat was accelerating every minute. The next bullet will be in me or the shell I hear is coming towards me. Dozens of martyrs are lying on the ground. We cannot help them. Whoever is injured and bleeding will continue to bleed until he dies. No one can approach him and he will remain in his place. How long will we continue with these fears and this terror? How long will I continue running and running and hiding from death to get a kilo of sugar or a liter of vegetable oil or a kilo of flour? You can help me not to go there with a donation. You can prevent me from going to death so that I can eat and live. Please do not stop donating to me and my family. Please take care of us a little. Funding Education in Gaza

The genocide has completely upended normal life for all Gazans, including their access to education. Isnad (@isnadfoundation) is helping to provide education to students in Gaza. You can learn more about Isnad and the incredible work that they do on their website.

Currently, they are trying to raise $3,500 (USD) for rent and to continue operating to serve students in Gaza. So far, they've received about $2k/3.5k, and they still have $1.5k to go. The foundation is on a deadline and only has 2 days left. This is an urgent, time-sensitive situation. If they don't receive the funds they need, Isnad will not be able to help provide education to students in Gaza any longer.

My friend Zina @zinaanqar16 contacted me TODAY and told me that her daughter Ronza is suffering from malnutrition and anemia, which was confirmed after recent medical tests. She cries day and night because there is no milk or proper food available for her. She sent me pictures of her back and stomach, just some bones covering her soft skin. This innocent child should not have this happen to her. The same is true for her three siblings, who are also going hungry. I beg you to help my dear friend Mohamed, who does everything he can to help his family even in these dire circumstances. The unending siege on Gaza has driven prices for the most basic items very high and the bombing never ceases.

His wife, Manal, needs chemotherapy treatment. She was not able to receive her latest dose because of donations slowing. His son Abdul Rahman remains in recovery in the hospital after a recent shelling, in need of skin grafts and hospital care. His two girls Sarah and Lynn are going hungry.
