✖【☾】→ On the edge of death once again, Yami stood there with his choice of weapon -- a rusty metal part -- with a face that said nothing but anger and concentration. The gang in front of him stood there, smirking down at him. This was the daily routine -- they always thought they had him, and yet he was always the one to win the games he set up for them to play. However, these guys held tightly onto their electricity pistols, and as the last round ended in the game, Yami stood as the winner like always.
But these guys -- they had other plans, and soon they had dropped their pistols down in the water that had surrounded them in the abandoned building. The electricity reached Yami, and a shriek in pain came from him, causing him to drop the weapon in his hands as he stumbled back, eyes wide. He was gasping, and every move he made hurt now. They cheated.. And he was not going to let them get away with it. Anger filled him up, and with his last powers -- he used them to attack. The gang disappeared, well -- at least their souls did. Four bodies fell limp and lifeless into the water, and it was no mistaking -- they were dead.
Yami couldn't move. His body was shaking, and he was almost certain he was going to faint soon.. His body couldn't handle all the damages. And soon his consciousness gave in -- and he fell limp on the ground as well.

✖【☾】→ The feeling of being followed had never gone away. The Pharaoh knew very well that in the dark it was easy to get lost -- and he couldn't help but almost jump when he heard a voice speaking. His eyes quickly got used to the area, and he caught a glimpse of white hair that was easy to spot -- however -- the face wasn't all that simple to study due to the shadows casting over mostly everything.

The words spoken in a nervous tone told Yami that the one who had been following him knew who he was -- or perhaps a rumor had been spread. Had someone seen his doings from afar and started talking about it? If that was the problem -- Yami would have to react quickly, find the person and make them forget it, stop the rumor. It would take some time, but he'd manage.
The silence was broken by his feet against the ground again, the sound echoing as it closed up on whoever it was, then a hand extended out and grabbed the stanger's hand in his, tugging gently to guide him through the blinding dark. Soon -- he had exited the dark part, and was now standing under a street lamp, not a person in sight except for him and the other one. Now he could finally take a closer look, but as he did that, he also spoke silently; ❝Who are you?❞

He wasn’t lost, but Ryou was convinced he was following a ghost. He had seen it, the familiar spike of multi-toned hair as he had just come back from eating lunch at a nearby ramen joint he enjoyed, but not often. Panic had seized him and he had pushed through the crowd, chasing spikes and blue coattail. The crowd had never been huge in the late evening, but he still managed to lose him at one point. Shouting in frustration, he ran a little farther, catching him just as Yami -no it could be someone else it could be a trick- turned into an alley.
Ryou regretted it the minute he stepped into the darkness, fear laboring his breathing and making his chest right. No, he told himself, forcing himself to move and he stayed closer to the wall to feel his way through. When the echo of footsteps stopped, so did Ryou, and he held his breath as if it would actually do him any good.
Say it, say it, say it, say it, say it—- "Are you him?” The breath leaves him in a rush and he regrets it more than he regrets following this man that may or may not be the man Ryou thought he was. How stupid could he be?

✖【☾】→ Marik.. Once again the feeling struck him. He really felt like he should have recognized her, but nothing really came to him, so he decided to stop pondering and just let it go like it was, getting to know her this way -- the normal way. However, with the feeling of familiarity -- he felt like she could be a threat. A danger to him. So he'd have to be careful. These warnings were never wrong.
❝Nhm.. I can't remember, Marik.. I'm sorry.❞ He then decided to move on from the introduction and decided to see if it was a mere coincidence that she was here. ❝Was there anything you needed from me? I did catch you staring, after all, and you do know who I am.❞
Giving a blink of amethyst eyes, Marik listened as the male spoke. Pursing her lips slightly, the female let her eyelids fall shut as a smirk tugged the corners of her lips upwards then reopened her eyes once more. If he didn’t know who she was then she’d just need to reintroduce herself to him, it wasn’t much of a big deal to her anyhow. “Marik.” she stated her name though she wasn’t entirely expecting him to remember.
“Marik Ishtar,” she repeated, adding her family name. Perhaps she should state her status as a Tomb Keeper— maybe, later. “If you are unable to remember Pharaoh, that’s fine.” she spoke with a small smile.

✖【☾】→ The boy turned around, frowning a little. He had felt the presence of someone for some time now, and usually people didn't walk around at this time of the day -- not alone. And especially not at a place like this. A narrow alleyway, dark. One would be blind when walking in here, and Yami tended to use this way when he was heading home, because that way he didn't need to have people following after him. Perhaps suspicion had been at it's place.. He was after all covered in blood that was not his own.

✖【☾】→ When he managed to get a better look on the stranger, he raised an eyebrow in more of a curious look instead of the glare. So she knew him, which had to mean that he knew her too. Yami shifted a little so he was facing her properly when she approached, hands never leaving his pockets. No matter how hard he tried to figure it out -- he just couldn't seem to remember her.
He then widened his eyes when she asked him if he was the Pharaoh, and he froze completely, just staring at her in an attempt to break the wall that hid her identity to his brain. Snapping out of his thoughts, the boy shook his head a little before blinking as his attention was once again turned to her. ❝Yes.. I am. I feel like I should know who you are as well, but obviously a fragment of my memory has been deleted completely during my long wait for return,❞ he spoke, sighing a little. Better to shoot now and hope for her to explain rather than stand there like a complete idiot in hope that his memory of her would pop up.

That has to be him.
Standing there as she continued staring at the spiky haired male, Marik blinked twice before she flinched lightly in response to stern eyes staring right back at her — she took note that he had spotted her while she was in a slight daze. Giving a pout-like frown at the minor glare she was receiving from the other, the female let out a small huff through her nose as if responding. Finally mustering up the confidence to approach him despite his cold stare, Marik pushed herself away from the wall she was leaning against and walked up to him. Stopping, she inhaled softly.
“You are.. the Pharaoh, correct?” she asked politely. She knew the monarch’s presence —especially up close— well enough not to mistake him for his host, Yugi Mutou. So when in said Pharaoh’s presence, she needed to be respectful.

✖【☾】→ Yami had his eyes on his millennium puzzle at all times, treasuring it like he treasured his friends.. He had finally managed to find a way to communicate with his other half, the original Yugi -- and he was happy. He had to keep the bond between them strong, so nothing could ever be in their way.. Nothing. No one.
As the boy made his way out of the dark and narrow street, being exposed to anyone, he felt eyes on him. Someone was watching -- and he stopped for a minute to have his eyes glance around. Was he spotted? Had someone seen what had happened? It wouldn't become much of a problem, but he could be attacked. His eyes landed on someone in the end -- a female, looking oddly familiar to him, but the Pharaoh couldn't really seem to remember or figure it out no matter how hard he tried, so instead, his hands were stuffed in his pockets as he locked eye contact with the other one, glaring slightly as if questioning why he was being rudely stared at.

Marik wandered aimlessly while she searched for something to keep the boredom away, though as of yet; she found nothing or nobody that captivated her. Letting out a silent scowl, she continued down the street with nothing more than an irritated expression. “What a boring day.” she mused out loud to herself before her attention was finally perked by something she had caught a glimpse of at the corner of her eye. Turning around and heading towards the direction she had just come from; Marik peeked around a corner curiously.
“That looks like..” Her eyes widened some before a small smirk made its way to her lips. It looked like Yugi— or, the Pharaoh. Whichever, they were identical.

✖【☾】→ Penalty game. Yami had just managed to punish another bad person. It was a boy -- a boy who had been a bully for years, stealing and taking things from the victims for too long. Yami hated bullies -- mostly because he knew how Yugi felt about them as well. He would do anything to stop them, even if they were this young. The boy had gone crazy by now, seeing illusions as other bullies attacking him instead. Hopefully that would end his days of being who he was. Yami cupped his puzzle in his hand and smiled before he turned to leave. His work was done.

✖【☾】→ Yami didn't really have much to say about this odd looking guy. He was after all one to walk around with quite the special kind of hair so-- anywho, no time to be thinking about this now. The boy was currently busy with something else, and a hand was placed on his millennium puzzle as if he needed to protect it from someone. He didn't fear the other man, because he seemed rather harmless, but did he know that there were gangs of people walking around at this time of the day, just waiting for someone to walk down the streets? They would be going for his puzzle if he didn't look after it..

✖【☾】→ The boy had never been expecting anyone else to be around. He had been in this situation before, but usually got out of it just in time to not get noticed, and now he was obviously targeted by someone who had been having the same goals as him -- at least he hoped so. He had frozen completely when he had heard the voice, and he waited for a moment before he turned around to make eye contact, frowning slightly before he groaned again at the pain in his arm. He needed to get it bandaged up or something..
❝I--I'm Yugi Mutou..❞ In the short period of time he had during turning around, he had let Yugi take over. The two of them worked together perfectly -- close as friends could be now, and Yugi had decided to play along when Yami decided to run away from the situation. ❝I heard .. voices.. and I got too close.. The man attacked me before he left.. I have no idea where he is!❞ The other one couldn't prove that Yugi was lying. The culprit was gone forever, and if they found the kids, they would never experience kidnapping of this sort again in a long time, so if he'd just get out of the mess he was in -- he'd be safe and sound, back to daily routine of life.

It could honestly be said that having a sniper on this kind of mission was pretty useless. Although he could attack from afar, shoot the guy doing all this if need be, sometimes a hands-on approach was much better for the circumstances. Irvine thought that this was one of those times. So he set himself up across from where the guy was suspected to be holding the kids, set up his rifle and peeked through. What he saw made this pause. The heck was that glow, and who was that guy? He didn’t match the picture of the suspect for sure. The Galbadian frowned slightly, deciding to go against protocol. He ditched his rifle and instead took out Ulysses, heading over to where this weird guy was and sliding inside. It was only when he was close enough to hold up his gun and get a close hit, and to talk and be heard, that he spoke. "Who the heck’re you and what are y’ doing here?" His voice was a low hiss, one full of suspicion, and damn did he want to go back to the Garden.

# Headcanon #
This will be added as headcanon due to me not being sure about this. I have read most of the mangas, and somewhere a long the lines I think I caught something about a shadow world which is a place Yami sends people sometimes. I am not one hundred percent sure if this is my memory being messed up or if it's correct in any way, but I'll put this here anyways;
Obviously, sending people to the shadow world weakens Yami a lot. He will not be able to walk much, not move at all until maybe an hour later. Even then he'll be weak, but strong enough to take actions. Using his powers aren't just fun and games y'know. They do wear him out.

✖【☾】→ He had just finished another shadow game, the glowing millennium eye slowly disappearing as he finished the penalty game he had just sent on his opponent -- a man in his late thirties who had been kidnapping children. It wasn't normal for the boy to play around with dangerous men like this, and obviously, he had been hit by a weapon -- a knife it seemed. There was a cut on his left arm, and he groaned as he looked around himself, now trying to figure out where the kids could have been hidden.
Yami was weak, but he stood up straight, took a deep breath before he started to explore around in hope to hear a call from the children. He still couldn't believe that this kidnapper was going to sell these souls to some old perverts.. Why would anyone go that far? Well, there was nothing to worry about anymore now. The man was gone. Trapped in a world of shadows where he belonged. Yami didn't often send people there, because he ended up weak like this, but this was different. The man was so twisted -- he couldn't let him stand on human ground anymore.
