pretty much everything about her childhood is the same as canon. ginny was the last child and only girl born to arthur & molly weasley and grew up with six older brothers to torment love her. she had a fairly picturesque, though somewhat chaotic, upbringing in the burrow.

while she has always loved her family and would do almost anything for them, it was hard being the youngest and trying to figure out where she fit in with them. her brothers were largely protective over her, but with so many loud voices and personalities, it sometimes made her feel a bit overlooked and outnumbered as a girl, especially when her brothers would band together with something and leave her out ( like practicing quidditch behind the house ). she had to learn quickly to shake things off in order to keep up with them as best as she could.

she was still a kid when bill went off to hogwarts, and she watched each of her brothers go to the magical school before her, just waiting for her turn to go. though she enjoyed the time at home with her parents without having to share the attention, she missed the company more than anything. it was far too quiet in the house without the chaos and warmth her brothers always seemed to bring. when the time came for her to finally go to hogwarts, it felt like her life was finally beginning.

the sorting ceremony was barely even a blip on the radar for her; of course she would be in gryffindor like the rest of her family. it was a no-brainer. while she hated the quick judgement of a hat that didn't really know her, she couldn't deny that it was the right place for her. what she didn't like even more, however, was how many of the professors and students seemed to act like they already knew her simply based on her surname and the parade of brothers that preceded her.

she took very little time to stand out on her own. she was smart, but not a know-it-all like percy. she was adventurous & fun-loving, but not a prankster like the twins. ginny tried out for quidditch, but didn't make it her first try like charlie had. she wanted independence and to be more than just another weasley, and that's exactly what she did.

her current plans for her life are to enjoy being young while she can and to become a professional quidditch player. it might seem to be a fanciful idea, but ginny is far more practical than she might appear. she knows she has what it takes, and even more than that, she was told as a child that she could do anything she set her mind to. and once ginny sets her mind on something, woe be unto any who try to stop her.

obviously she's older than she was in canon while being in her fourth year. additionally, the entire chamber of secrets adventure didn't happen here. voldy might have his horcruxes out there somewhere, but the diary didn't come into contact with ginny.

she was portrayed in canon as fairly shy and awkward to begin with in her first couple years at hogwarts, but here she outgrew that in her teens and came to hogwarts the independent and fierce gremlin we know.

i know she didn't technically get her pygmy puff arnold until her fifth year, but i couldn't resist so she has him now for some reason that may or may not be plotted out at a later date if/when we get the twins.

definitely has dated around like she did in the books, but i'm not gonna list specific characters without plotting it with them first in case anyone wants to change anything from canon!
