Misconceptions About No Phun Intended
No Phun Intended refers to the 6-track EP released by Tyler Joseph in 2008, and it is also used by fans to refer to any music made by Tyler in this 2007-2008 period regardless of its actual appearance on the EP. There is a lot of misinformation and confusion surrounding NPI. Underlined words are hyperlinks.
Misconception 1: "NPI is a 20*-track album released by Tyler Joseph"
Firstly, NPI is not really an album. It was a 6-track EP released by Tyler Joseph onto his PureVolume account on November 30 2008. The songs on this original release include Taken By Sleep, Drown, Tonight, Save, Hole In The Ground, and Blasphemy. The most commonly known version of NPI is the 19*-track bootleg (the heading is not a typo, the 20th track would be Chords/Words discussed below).
The aforementioned 6 songs were the only songs released by Tyler. Most of the songs on the bootleg were leaked by allphunintended, aka Joe, on Periscope around 2015. The songs Going Down and Track 07 were discovered in 2018 by ultrawafflehous.
*Edit: Originally said 19 and 18-track. My mistake.
Misconception 2: Minister's CD
For anyone interested in NPI, the first post I would recommend reading is u/AlexanderPANASONIC's "No Phun Intended - Everything We Know: History, Trivia, and Mysteries (Solved?)" post. It is a very well put together deep dive into NPI that is an amazing resource overall. There is, however, one big issue with the post: the theories hinge on the existence of the Minister's CD.
In 2018, shortly after Going Down and Track 07 surfaced, this Google Drive was created by Avizemo. It was claimed that the NPI tracks in the drive were ripped from a CD given to someone by a minister at Tyler Joseph's old church. What was especially notable about it were the alternative names to songs ("Wash Me, Drown Me" rather than "Drown," for instance) along with the presence of "7 Chords and Words," "The One Gone," and "The Trees" (see later sections).
On March 10 2024, Avizemo admitted that the Minister's CD was a hoax. The person who sent Avizemo the CD lied about receiving it from a minister at Tyler's church, and they also created the fake song titles.
Misconception 3: Chords/Words
"Chords/Words" is a alleged NPI-era track. As I have already made an in-depth post about this, I will keep it brief here.
"Words," which you can see here, is most likely an alternative title for Hear Me Now, as they have the same length and Hear Me Now begins with the lyrics "Words of mine/Words of yours."
"Chords" and "Chords/Words" do not seem to exist. Remember to check my other post for more information if you are interested.
Misconception 4: "Goner is on NPI"
Like Chords/Words, I have already made an in-depth post about whether or not Goner was an NPI-era song.
The version of Goner included in most NPI track listings is the 2012 accordion version. Also, this version created by Who Isn't Blurryface is a hoax. Remember to check my other post for more information if you are interested.
Misconception 5: "Trees is on NPI"
Trees is certainly an old song, but at this time we do not have proof that it was a fully recorded NPI-era song. The version commonly featured on NPI track listings is the Regional at Best version.
NPI-era songs were made in Garageband. Songs made by Tyler Joseph in Logic Pro certainly come after this era.

I like Twenty One Pilots a little bit and know a small amount about them. My posts under #webseries001 post.
Currently looking into: pre-Blurryface merch guide
I love No Phun Intended, but I'm not interested in looking for any "new" NPI-era tracks. NPI-related posts are to clear up confusion and misinformation.
Happy to try my hand at any TOP-related questions.
I may know the year your (official) merch was released, but I probably won't know how much it's worth.
Underlined words in my posts are links to sources. They usually go to Reddit, YouTube, archive.org, Imgur, and my other tumblr posts.

Does anyone have suggestions for more Twenty One Pilots "research" posts? Anything about the band that's confusing or has unclear or obscure origins? I'm happy to look into anything.
For reference, I've already done "Misconceptions About No Phun Intended", "All About Chords/Words", and "Is Goner an NPI-era Song?" These are all No Phun Intended-related.

listening to rab and self titled makes me emotional bc there鈥檚 something to be said about believing in your dreams while you鈥檙e just starting out and having this cloud of uncertainty and worries follow you around but still choosing to pursue your dreams anyway.
especially when i rewatch the rab web series. not to romanticize the struggle but there鈥檚 so much beauty in defying the world and your circumstances to make your dreams come true. it鈥檚 so worth it. i hope i get to experience that one day and look back on the trials and tribulations i鈥檝e been through. power to the local dreamer.

Is Goner an NPI-era song?
Underlined words are hyperlinks.
Goner is most likely not a No Phun Intended-era song. The reigning proof here is that the band themselves claim it was a new song in 2012 (check the description).
The most common version attributed to NPI is simply the 2012 version.
There is also a popular fake that you can listen to here. This version was created by Who Isn't Blurryface using Audacity. Who Isn't Blurryface admitted to fabricating this version on Reddit.
Who Isn't Blurryface's fake NPI Goner consists of the 2012 version with the vocals filtered out and the instrumental edited. The "Tyler?" that can be heard at the end (1:19) originates from False Sense of Sweetness (2:51).
By the way, "The One Gone" is a fabricated alternate title that originated from the Minister's CD, which is fake. The title "I'm a Goner," also, seems to have originated with allphunintended's original leak of NPI-- this version is the 2012 version. Allegedly allphunintended admitted to "I'm a Goner" not being real, but my source is dubious (though I have also seen the same claim in the TOP Discord server), and his channel is now gone and unarchived.
There is no proof that "Goner" is an NPI-era song. An NPI-era version most likely does not exist. However, its existence can only be confirmed or denied by Tyler Joseph.

All About Chords/Words
"Chords/Words" refers to an alleged No Phun Intended-era track by Tyler Joseph. A lot of misinformation has been spread about this supposed song. Really, what is very likely is that this song does not exist at all. Underlined words are hyperlinks.
One of the biggest causes of confusion is this image, originally posted by Madison Brett (Joseph) on Twitter. It is generally agreed upon, though, that "Words" is most likely just some kind of nickname for Hear Me Now, given that the song lengths are the same and Hear Me Now begins with the lyrics "Words of mine/Words of yours." So, "Words" is real- but it is most likely Hear Me Now. The origin of "Chords" remains elusive. It is debated where the idea of a "Chords/Words" even came from.
As for so-called "found", versions of the song, these are either mistaken or outright fake. Namely, Track 07 and Who Isn't Blurryface's fake version.
Track 07 surfaced along with "Going Down" in 2018. It is a legitimate demo. It is commonly said that Track 07 is really Chords/Words, but this is a mistake. It seems the only reason that this is commonly believed is because of the Minister's CD, which had Track 07 as the seventh track, titled "7 Chords and Words." The Minister's CD, though, is fake, which leaves no real reason to think that Track 07 is synonymous with Chords/Words. This is further shown in that Track 07 seems to be made with Logic Pro X while all NPI-era songs were made with Garageband on a MacBook.
So, to be completely clear, this fairly popular upload is Track 07, not Chords/Words.
As for Who Isn't Blurryface's fake, this is what it sounded like. Note that that is not the original upload, as the Who Isn't Blurryface YouTube channel is now gone. Who Isn't Blurryface admitted to fabricating this clip using Audacity and part of Tyler Joseph's vocals from a New Albany Music song (I believe the vocals come from the song "Twenty-Nine").
There is really no way to prove that this song does or does not exist unless it is confirmed by Tyler Joseph himself. I am not holding my breath for that to happen as he has no obligation to speak on NPI at all, so all that can really be done on the matter is to lay misinformation to rest.
