You stood outside with shaky legs, debating whether or not to actually go inside. Another clap of thunder close by made you pick your decision rather quickly. The lavender and sandalwood smell invaded your brain instantly comforting you.

You entered his office absentmindedly, knowing he had no other company due to the sound of silence. He was hunched over his desk drawing away, shoulders spread apart and relaxed to ensure detail and perfection.

“What a lovely surprise what brings you here?”

He hadn’t looked up to see you fully, but he tilted his head to see who you were.

“Are you quite alright? It looks like you walked here, I didn’t realize how hard it was raining outside.”

The state of your form and clothes made his attention turn fully to you.

“It’s uhm thundering and storming outside Dr. Lecter. I was wondering if we could talk?”

“Of course we can, Y/N is it important?”

“It is rather important yes,”

She interrupted her sentence to stifle a sob that almost escaped her lips.

“My husband cheated on me.”

Immediately rushing to her aide, he tsked and sighed, head shaking as he took your coat off your shoulders.

“I hate to say it Mrs L/N, but I was almost expecting this to happen. With what you told me about your husband in the first place. Him growing distant and whatnot. Either way however, I am still sorry. And I do appreciate you coming here almost right away.”

He looked down at her face with a soft look on his face, before noticing how half the raindrops on her face weren’t actually raindrops. His rough calloused hands came up to caress your face almost lovingly. Using his thumbs to wipe away the pesky tears all over your face. Small sniffles coming from your nose.

“It’s okay my love, you don’t need him. You have me. That’s all you need.”
