Most the celebrities speeches at the women's march actually hurt the cause. Rants about Trump means you alienated half the country and appeared to pissed your candidate lost. That didnt further women rights or raise awareness of rape culture...it equated your cause with a person who generally has no effect on your daily life. It also gave the message that this wouldn't be a problem if trump wasn't elected or maybe that it will end when he's gone. There are causes and there are "look at me I'm protesting"...the latter hurts the cause, it gives nay sayers a reason to write you off, and those are the people who need convincing.

Woman's rights
Woman's rights would have happened sooner if we all banded together...like sorry men no sex til we can vote...I mean gays wouldn't be affected but they were probably for women rights bc they knee discrimination first hand. I'm not saying misogynists are led by their penis but...for every man that keeps you down is another one you can manipulate with a low cut shirt

Elaine Archeron
Let's talk about Elaine. The person Nesta would burn the world down for. Or be content to watch the world burn if it wasn't for her. The person feyre worked hard so that she could still be a gentle grower. The person who both nesta had their own agreement on that the world would not tarnish her. That she was the one they'd protect so that her joy of the world would remain even if they both suffered for it. Elaine will be one hell of a fighter. Purity and joy is not weakness. It's a reason to fight. So that others can know joy. Elaine will be right beside Nesta fighting, bc she knows the importance of not letting the world burn.

Victimless crimes
I used to think that drugs were a victimless crime. Then my sister became a teacher at a low income school. About half her kids have behavior problems, that a usually linked to drugs or alcohol in pregnancy. Moreover, most of her children are not grade level in basic and educational skills. It's hard to teach long division when you're trying to make half the class behave. So drugs are not victimless bc you become addicted and addiction doesn't disappear when you have kids.

BLM
I think the Black Lives Matter movement is a good movement. Freedom of speech is beautiful. However I think that it could be a lot more meaningful. It has become a racial rift on both sides bc angry people are the loudest. (The irrational angry ppl I mean like the "kill all cops"). I think BLM could make real change if they refocus efforts. Right now there is a huge incarnation disparity problem. No one can dispute that. (The shootings have stats for both- incarceration does not). But we, as a nation need to look beyond that: as in if minorities are incarcerated more crimes are being committed. What kind of people are more likely to commit crimes? Criminology 101: poor people and undereducated. There's a huge income disparity and low income schools do their best but they need more help. And if you can make a butt load selling drugs why would you work minimum wage? BLM has a huge platform and could really make a difference if they looked deeper than police shootings. While a problem, it's more a final ripple on criminal justice reform. Fixing the income and education disparity will make the biggest difference and the rest will follow. I admit that I am white, in the "I have a black friend" state. (We tell ppl we're not racist bc we know like one black person who lives here). So I have not been personally affected by racial profiling. I'm an outsider looking in, but this is this outsiders opinion.

When lawyers play doctor
Trial Advocacy class means you have to be witnesses...it's entertaining when you have to play a dr and make shit up... "Were her vitals slowed down from the alcohol?" "I did the autopsy, by the time I got her she didn't have any vitals" "But was she really losing blood? I mean she was bleeding internally the blood was still there right?"
