I still think the most devastating enshittification I've ever seen has been picrew. One of the few dress-up game websites left that's not flash-based and it's become DRENCHED in ads. You can't open the home screen without being blasted by at least three or four ads. You can't open two picrews in a row without watching a video ad first. When you have a picrew open the ads cover up the different options and sometimes even stack on each other so you have to hit like 2 or 3 different x buttons to get it to go away, only for more to appear seconds later. two time in my interp is basically a neurodiveregent person with horrible self-esteem issues. they were ostracized by people in their life and came to the belief that something was inherently wrong with them. they were vulnerable and unstable, easily indoctrinated into the cult under the belief that respawning was the only thing that could fix them, rebirth them into a better self. it was either that or putting an end to themselves altogether.

azure became an unexpected, but very significant person in their life. he took the time to get to know them beyond what they initially present, actually getting to see the genuinely sweet & misunderstood person they are once that shell cracks. he never saw them as a freak that should be avoided. he saw someone who intrigued him, who he wanted to befriend.

once told they would have to sacrifice him, it caused a horrible internal conflict in their mind. do they leave everything behind again, discarding the one person that made them feel truly loved? or do they throw away their only chance at achieving what they've longed for in the first place?

they chose the first option, which only resulted in everything getting even worse, their mental health completely breaking apart, developing all sorts of new issues. they felt confused and betrayed. this wasn't what they were promised, what they thought they would recieve. this did not feel good at all. all they could cling onto was the desperate belief that this was only temporary; that eventually, the spawn would do something.

thats.all i will say for now bc its very hard to put into words bc they have a lot of conflicting feelings and beliefs abt their god, themselves, the cult etc. due to their absolutely destroyed mental health LOLLLLLLL
