I understand that you're moving away from Weirdlanders, but I'm curious if you ever had a design for the Third Egg hatchling in mind? As in, what ratio of human to dragon they were.

Oh yes! The lil eggo still has a design, has a name, and I even had two posts saved in drafts about the eggo being born. The character was designed by a friend of mine, and started off as a 'what if' third baby that ended up becoming canon. Or, would have if I'd continued.

Sadly, almost all files I had were lost when my laptop kicked the bucket. Original files anyway, I could always redraw the bugger ^^ I will say it's anatomy was completely different than Havok and Hysterias.

Its... been so long. But this blog never left my mind. I felt guilty for years for leaving, for letting life get to me and destroying my love for a world I felt so happy in.

I wanted to start a new blog to help me step back into this world. I'll be answering asks and posting new things there (I hope). It's not going to focus on Weirdlander characters like how this one used to, but I hope, HOPE to get back into the groove. I miss interacting with so many amazing, talented people. I want to do so again :)

It's been so many years since I abandoned the very world that inspired me so much.

I've wanted to return to it, but felt ashamed and not creative enough to revive it. I want to change that.

Here, I'll be trying to get back into the lore of this world. I'm not going to plan out story but instead expand and revisit the creatures and dragons that inhabited the dark realms of Kurosia.

I've also decided to open the inbox to invite others to wish to also look back on old memories :) or, to ask questions. I'll do my best to reply.

Thank yall, so, so much. I hope this post finds people doing well in these hard times. Let's see if we can rebuild an old, old world to get lost in again ❤️

Hey Ms Weird, its me moon man who owned the Kuros family ask blog. After like 3 years I finally saw your reblog of encouragement for the Pulse Dragons to be their own thing, and while late It still means a lot to me! I still have them as a concept, but am working on trying to make them a world and have fun. That being said, I will forever find it interesting how we kinda took something so obscure in a fandom and hyper focused on it to the point were we have our own worlds and basically becoming its own thing. Vastly different in like....well design but still so similar in origins of creation. You with the Kuros from Cynder, and me with Angels from Homestuck.  Like darkness and light, which to me I'll always giggle about. ANYWAY, here have a silly doodle of your boy Voteil and my angel boy Icarus. I always mused secretly of both society meeting but anyway just remember to take care! Its... been way too long since I've posted here. I'm so, so sorry. It's been years possibly, I've lost count but the guilt has stayed with me the entire time. I haven't forgotten Kurosia or this blog, I want desperately to come back answering questions like I used to.

I've lost a lot of my fire. I struggle a lot with it and I've even refused to do commissions. I refuse to give this blog and all its lore up, I just apologize if my attempts to get myself back to drawing what used to make me happy fails over and over. I want things to get better again, but I won't lie when I say I feel stuck and unable to regain what I lost.

Also for Deviantart, I unfortunately haven't been active there in the past year either. I wasn't paying attention to my dA before it changed, and when it did I lost my patience trying to figure it out. I deeply apologize to those trying to reach me there, my real life has taken a toll on me.

Thank you, everyone, I hope I can breathe life back to this blog. <3 I miss interacting with people, seeing the amazing things people would create and ask. I feel like a part of me is gone, I miss this a great great deal. Thank you, all of you.

Hi, I’ve been following your page for years now and I love it. I finally mustered up the courage to share a design for a Kuros breed with you if its ok ;^;/ Falnucu (Fal-nu-ku) are a small breed of Kuros, their wingspan is rather small in relation to their bodies and have a large membrane down their tail that can be spread our and folded back in. This allows them to hover in place for an extended period of time comfortably. They have a reasonable lifespan depending on their jobs, the oldest recorded managed to reach just shy of 400.

They have more of a beak like structure to their mouths, with the edges being one continuous (and very sharp) piece of Kuronium. Their Kuronium is arguably the weakest of all the breeds and has little use outside of jewelry. That being said, it takes a very skilled blacksmith to work with Falnucu kuronium because of its fragility and tendency to break during the smithing process.

Their secondary colours can be a mottled mix and their wings/tail membranes usually have patterns. No one Falnuc is the same in this regard. Their eyesight is incredible, they can see much greater distances than other breeds and with much more clarity.

In Kuros society they are very low ranking. Their size makes what jobs they can do very niche. In battle their main use is carrying messages between generals, scouting the enemy and taking out enemy messengers. Their preferred way of doing the latter is to attack from above at a high speed, striking the head with a closed paw with deadly precision.

Only the best Falnucu are prized for these roles, as a result there are often competitions held for them to show off their speed, stamina, agility and perception. The higher rank you are, the better Falnucu you can take on, with the cream of the crop belonging to the King and Queen. Being in the Royal flock is a coveted position for many Falnucu.

Other roles they tend to fill is pest control, their size allows them to fit into may small places and catch even the most determined of rodents and bugs. They are also fond of grooming the other breeds, combing them over for parasites and cleaning any viscera from their latest kill/battle.

As a breed they usually have no control over their breeding. Those who are under the wing of a general will have their partners chosen for them, to ensure the next generation has the best genes.

They are also know for their beautiful singing voices, those who don’t make the cut to be in battle often become in house singers for the important.

Outside of Kurosia, a Falnucu seen flying around a settlement is seen as a bad omen…that it signals an attack in the future. So they will be violently chased away.

There is also a legend surrounding them too. That an Arkeyan captured one, named Áille, that belong to a queen. Their kuronium useless to them they instead imprisoned them in a small cage, clipped their wings and commanded them to sing like a bird. This Arkeyan would parade this captured kuros around, poking her to sing and humiliating her and her kind. Áille would only sing in Kurosian….and always songs calling for her kin to find them. The Arkeyan became too cocky and a scouting Falnucu heard the song, and upon closer inspection was horrified to see what had become of Áille and immediately reported back to the Kind and Queen.

Angered by the tale they rallied an army and attacked ruthlessly. Áille was freed from her cage…but was unable to continue her duties. She could no longer fly and being cooped up in a cage had damaged her back. The queen, however, was kind. She permitted Áille to remain in the castle till she passed away at the age of 235. Her bones were crafted into a most beautiful piece of art that held pride of place in the Falnucu quarters of the castle.

I really don’t know why I don’t see when I get submissions, because I just to happen to peek into my asks and see this and NOT REMEMBER SEEING IT BEFORE Dx I wouldn’t think inactivity effects notifications but this keeps happening and I keep missing amazing creations like this ;n;

Hon, this is just, amazing! The wing patterns and shape are just eye candy, I LOVE!!! I absolutely LOVE the idea of tiny Kuros omg, lil singy cutes ;w; But the lore too, I’m just in awe of this and everyone that puts in this much creativity into their species/characters, this is just, GAH AMAZING and such a good dynamic to add to the Kurosian society, plus the Arkeyan part and the clipping of wings HNNGGG I LOVE!!! I hope you haven’t been waiting too long for me to see this, PLEASE if anyone sends in an ask or submission and I don’t get back in a few days, feel absolutely free to poke me! I want to see these incredible creations because it’s so inspiring, YALL MAKE GOOD STOOF <3 I’ll add these babs to the fan breed list if you could give me a name to credit you with, even a link to your work for me to link to if you wanted too!  Which speaking of! There are some REALLY badass fan kuros breeds that the creators have said can have peeps make OCs with! For Weirdlanders, I pretty much consider a lot of fan stuff canon so give them a peek! Definately adding these guys, if the creator is open for peeps to make OCs using their breed :D

This is a response to an ask about Burdohk armor (THANK YOU FOR THE SWEET ASK HON!!!), but I thought I’d share this wee size comparison of how big Kuros would be compared to actual humans. Probably not going to keep the naga’s size that to keep it in ‘skylander/weirdlanders’ canon as Kuros aren’t nearly as big as they should be. But thought it would be fun to share!

Granted since Burdohk is a brokt and therefor MASSIVE the human comparison would be maybe half that naga’s size, but in context of ‘common’ sized Kuros this is a close representation! ~WH

OH I see your angle. In Kurosian canon, portal masters are a Skylanders thing, and sometimes I lean more away from that into more canon things, my bad. BUT in the context of this blog!

It’s definitely an ability gifted to them by what created them. It’s an advantage that shouldn’t have been given to them, but it’s a trait no matter what side their on. The Kurosian Gods saw to wiping out most humans and leaving only very few, making them rare enough to no longer be a threat but keeping it a Kurosian tradition to keep humans under their thumb. In Kuros canon they just take to magic well and are far more likely to use their abilities chaotically. For Skylanders every human can just do it so the Kuros are the only ones willing to keep them close to extinction for the sake of balance.  ~Weird Hyenas

Info: Gigi is a Kurosian artist, his artwork being on the bodies of most Kuros who are hardcore enough to get their bodies carved by his hand. He specializes in horn carving, horn boring, scale carving, and piercings. He takes pride in his work, and guarantees a stellar job every time. Why do humans have stronger magic than dragons? It seems weird given that dragons are born from magic and humans weren't.

They aren’t :O The form of magic humans use is deluded, at least for Kurosian dark magic, as humans can’t probably pronounce the language of the dragons. But depending on the situation, humans can still overpower dragons, it’s possible but just not very likely.

What’s firefly’s egg? I’m sure it’s important but what is it to her?

There’s two eggs in question, actually! One is Firefly’s egg, which was taken by Voteil before Hysteria knew of it. Voteil’s somewhere in the castle hiding with it, but it’s left him unable to protect his sibling when the egg is laid. Hysteria wants to use Night Watch and Firefly to crush her future sibling’s egg so the blame’s on them. I hope that clears it up!

Wait, if Breithonakt is still active since the Fall, why does he allow Feuriah, as well as the rest of the family, to go through the Veil, since being in love with Kaos, a human, would be a big no in the Kuros culture?

Breithonakt is well aware of what happened, Malefor had somehow done something to the Gods and even to him during the Fall. Breith had somehow been stunned, which meant nobody to leave or enter Kurosia except for Malefor’s forces, as if his abilities had been taken over for a brief time. After the Fall, Breith woke unlike the others, but it was too late. He then spent the next one hundred years guarding the Veil and keeping the abandoned city locked away. Until Feuriah came back, Kaos on her back and Glumshanks in her claws. He allowed her back eagerly, as she was not in love at the time. She sang to him about her slumber and her pact, and Breith allowed Kaos and his forces to breathe life back into Kurosia.  Brieth doesn’t quite approve of Feuriah’s actions and falling in love, but he has chosen to overlook this as they continue to reclaim what they can of Kurosia again. He has grown fond of Kaos’ stupidity, he likes to scare him the most by humming. Humming makes the air near him vibrate due to his size, which freaks Kaos out and he flies around in his dragon form like a confused fly while Feuriah’s pretty much like, “Mhmm yep thanks my bones needed a good rattling thaaaaanks.” xD

Pretty much, Brieth wants the Kuros to come back, and is willing to abide by Feuriah’s plans for now. Of course they can’t communicate properly, she can only speak to him and try to interpret him the best she can. Only Asiirha can speak to him openly~ ~Weird Hyenas
