i think that gifted class completely destroyed what it means to be a former “gifted kid”. It’s not just reading above your grade level. it’s a neurodivergence, if you tested higher then 130 on the iq test, you are not smarter than everyone, you are just neurodivergent. Everyone who studies it says that the name “gifted” is misleading, it’s just unfortunately what we are stuck with.

You never were a “gifted child” you just learnt how to read quicker than your fellow classmates and were fed the capitalist myth of the self-made person so you poured your value as a human being into grades and now that you’re a grown-up you have realized you’re just average like any of us and also the world does indeed lied to you and suck as it stands right now, so you can’t deal with it and blame it on a pseudo-identity from your junior high days instead of confronting the origin of the problem. Let it go, you’re not special.

want everyone to know that there are no strict rules on getting better. if you need to eat to eat 20 nuggets to able to bare the texture of small side salad, DO IT, it’s better than nothing, it’s best you can do, and you are doing f amazing❤️
