This sight greeted us as Donna and I exited our building. The garbage truck was just reversing out and I could hear some kid yelling, "BYE! BYE!" The two workers hanging off the back of the truck smilingly waved goodbye, at least their eyes seem to be smiling. I followed their line of sight and found the little boy on his balcony the second floor. "The garbage truck go already!", the little boy announced to no one in particularly. 🐕 Dad took Little P out for some one-on-one time today so I get to have some one-on-one time with mom. We went around to visit some friends. There were lots of little gray butterflies today, mynahs and we saw the cat. The cat was still suspicious of me and refused to look at mom for the picture. Some things never change. 🚶‍♀️ I used to see @mangothesheltie post side profiles of himself regularly to compare his growth? I thought it was a great practice but something i could never do consistently. 😝 As i was taking photos of Donna on the very convenient ledge... I was look at her tummy where she had her surgery earlier this year. Would a slit like that down her tummy cos her to lose some muscle strength like pregnancy and ceasarean does to a woman? Donna, sheriff's hound reporting for duty!! I actually was not here by the way. My mom just pasted me there because somebody said the "Look at my hand" guy needs a dog next to him. I guess his hand just isn't deterrant enough. 🤭 Also this mural (excluding the hand guy and me, etc) is by @yipyewchong (Thanks to Secret Informant for IDing the artist). Check out his feed for more shots of his work. I just want to say I definitely remember that big round Toa Payoh fountain. Teeth brushing for baby and teeth brushing for dog are two very different things. With the litrle boy it takes a lot of deep breaths, especially when he is in the "小P不要刷牙" (I don't want to brush my teeth) mood. With the dog it's much easier... you just need to have treats... or in our case... a stick of greenies at the end. 😝 although I have to admit we sometimes are so tired by the end of the day we forget to brush her teeth. 😅 Time to change her teeth brushing to mornings instead. Sharing some books we have been reading this Mid-autumn festival week!! 中秋节 (Mid-autumn Festival) is part of a set of books on Chinese feativals that I bought. I read it to Little P today and he listened attentively all the way to the end. That's usually a good sign for me. 😊 月亮是什么 is translated from Usborne's What is the Moon? It covers quite a bit of topics not just phases of the moon. We enjoyed the moon exploration part! 恐龙 is translated from Sara Hurst's Dinosaurs. Not directly related to the festival but we have been using our little lantern lightbulb to shine on the book to reveal hidden dinosaurs. 🦕 Little P really enjoys that. Last visit to @westside.emergency to remove my staples. The good news is the enormous tumour/splenic mass Dr removed was tested to be benign. Yay. However Dr said i still cannot jump around 😟 (even though I already jump down from the car 🤫 because mum with her bad back still cannot carry me in her condition and multi-tasking dad still occupied in conference call while driving me to the vet. 😅) and to keep walks around 20min only. Good news 2. I am no longer anaemic!! Good news 3. Now that my staples are removed I don't need to be on the cone anymore! ⬅️ From my perspective this is the best news of the three. Thank you once again to all the potential blood donors who contacted mom. I am glad we don't need to activate you in the end!! Thank you to the Drs and staff at Westside Emergency who took care of me the 2 days 2 nights I was there. We are truly grateful for everyone's care and concern. The other day we were just entering the lift when the lady inside jumped and said, "Wah, so scary..." When I finally reacted to the statement, I thought maybe it was the cone. By then the lift had already gone down several floors. So I hastened to assure her that Donna is wearing the cone not because she was fierce or aggressive but because she had surgery and the cone helps prevent her from agitating her wound. She seemed to accept what I said and went on as normal afterwards. The cone had become such a common item to me that I had totally taken it for granted, forgetting that somebody with very little or no experiece of coming in contact with a dog may misunderstand the use of the cone and draw their own erroneous conclusion from there. https://www.instagram.com/p/CLzBx4XlPwy/?igshid=6ufaazayrdsu

Mom had a bad migraine today, the kind that is so bad it makes you throw up in the loo. Yup that kind. So dad had to send me to the vet for my bloodtest without her. Go dad! You can do this! So, it seems this post op recovery process is becoming a fashion show of cones of shame. Mom can even write a blog post now since she has 3 cones on hand for review HAHA. Anyway, the new cone they bought from PLC, dr says is too heavy and big for me so they sold me a new one. Pros and cons. The new one works but... it is opaque. I have no side view now. Mom calls me. I ignore her. HAHA. Whatever, at least it spares mom from seeing me lick my shaved legs and flappy insides of my thighs until they are red. Which by the way is an auspicious CNY colour ok. I now have more pills to eat cos I am still anaemic and apparently i am fighting an infection also because my white blood cells went up. I'm ok with pills. Mom hides them in my sardine and my canned food so I don't even notice. 🙄 Where is my dog rights? Where? Mom divided my daily ration into 3 smaller meals rather than 2 meals today cos i wasn't finishing my food. We're doing honest kitchen base mix with protein to keep me hydrated. Though i do drink more water these couple of day so maybe that's not as necessary as mom thought. I seem to try to cough out something after my food so mom gave me kibbles with the recovery canned food that dad brought back from the blood test for supper instead and i didn't cough after my meal so... ... mom will continue to monitor. Hopefully mom recovers from migraine tomorrow then she can go buy some liver for me. 😋 What else do people give dogs who just had surgery anyway? I should make a list for mom. 📑 That's all mom is typing for me ... because she still has a bit of a headache going on. You can see the dr's report on photo 3 for details. Hi guys! I am discharged. I just had my supper, my painkiller, and now I'm just trying to settle down and sleep 😴 This is as naked as I am going to get. I look at my tummy and oh man... i feel like I am looking at Kranji Woodland satellite image 😰. Mom...why I so tired and bare and ugly already you still take picture of me??? 😱 where is your EQ?? Anyway Dr says I am anaemic, so no long walks, no jumping around, no hanky panky. DONE ✔ I ALREADY JUMP UP AND DOWN THE SOFA WHILE MOM PREPARED MY SUPPER HAHAHA. 😎 Dr says dunneed to bathe until staples are removed. GREAT! 👍👍👍 THIS IS A GOOD DOCTOR. I KNOW IT! Dr says I can eat anything. HAHAHA LOOK AT ALL THE CHINESE NEW YEAR BAK KWA ON THE TABLE! 😏 Mom is debating whether to put the cone on my today or tomorrow cos I'm not to bother my staples. Tomorrow pls. I am asleep. My eyes are closed. Don't bother me. Thank you to @westside.emergency vets and vet assistants who took care of me, carry me around, answer my mom's calls and gave me all sorts of food including kangaroo meat which I never get to eat at home. And of course for carrying out my surgery smoothly and as early as you could! Thank you again to all the volunteer dog donors who kena arrow. Heng I didn't need a transfusion so far. #touchwood Cos it's really not easy to find a DEA 1 negative blood donor so let's save you for another dog who needs you more. Or when I really need it!! 😅 sigh 狗老了~ Thank you everyone who help to share my appeal for blood donor. I think we can stop for now. Please just pray for me to have a smooth recovery so i don't need to alarm and bother all of you again. So paiseh 😅 Thank you to @drgwenda who as aways gave detailed explanations to mom's queries when the ultrasound showed that Donna had a ruptured splenic tumour. And thank you to the staff @brightonvetcare who helped to call up the emergency services and get quotes on potential costs so that mom can make the quick decision to send me to West Side Emergency. I'm getting blood tests tomorrow & next week to monitor my anaemic situation. We should receive a report of whether my tumour was benign or cancer next week.
