Justice League Dark: Apokolips War is DC's Endgame
This movie is the 15th film in the DC Animated Movie Universe. And the 38th and the final movie overall in the DC Universe Animated Original Movies line. Comando Torrent will tell you why Justice League Dark: Apokolips War is the best in this series.
As Marvel's fans enjoyed the end of an unbelievable series with Avengers: Endgame, DC fans also have seen greatness through this movie. Many of us questioned how Marvel Studios would stop the Mad Titan. And luckily Marvel didn't let us down.
They offered a pleasing end for most fans. Even though it left us wondering about some holes in the story. On the other hand, Apokolips War wrapped up its storyline in a fantastic way.
WARNING: The following contains spoilers
Apokolips War lived up to our high expectations The bars were set very high, but the movie felt like an epic comic book event. Once you have started it, you have to watch it till the end.
After the destruction and killings on Earth by Darkseid takes place, the remaining superheroes regroup and take the fight to Darkseid himself. This will create some twists in the story that you didn't see coming. And sadly, we will lose some beloved characters along the way.
Two years after the killings on Earth, Damian Wayne is the final hope for saving humanity. So, Clark Kent and Raven start by rescuing Constantine from drinking his pain to death. The film then goes on to pick up loose ends from DC's other projects. And still, it succeeds in keeping its flow.
The movie doesn't focus only on one hero
The storyline doesn't give you a chance to feel bored. The unpredictability of the movie is clear in the first 5 minutes. Apokolips War allows all the characters to shine throughout the film. Because you don't even see the broken Superman, confused Batman or damaged Wonder Woman until the big final fight.
The movie is mainly an all hands-on deck battle show.
Are 90 minutes enough? The animation writers Ernie Altbacker, Christina Sotta, and Mairghread Scott had what seems like an impossible job. The movie had to provide answers for all the questions asked by Justice League, Teen Titans, Justice League Dark, Suicide Squad, their known rivals, and Darkseid.
And you see, the pacing is usually the problem with most animated projects. But for the first time, a DC movie managed to feel just as long as it needed to be. You may think that a longer feature film would have given Scott more space to provide the characters with a bit more depth. But that wasn't mainly needed. Because during those 90 minutes the movie never lost its energy. And like we previously stated it managed to tie up all loose ends successfully, leaving us with a masterpiece.
R-Rating? We certainly enjoyed the thrilling battle and fighting scenes. However, the amount of blood and violence in some of the scenes didn't feel right. They serve no purpose, and it makes us feel like they are only there because the movie was intended for adult viewers.
Our final opinion We think that even though DC Animated Movie Universe wasn't as exciting as other DC projects. Yet, this movie managed to give it a boost. It does end suddenly and doesn't give you the time to absorb what happened, but we loved it.
