Argostemma spp. are very eye-catching small plants in Sumatra's high-altitude montane cloud forests. They are either epiphytic or terrestrial and obviously love the conditions of being heavily shaded with permanent high humidity and cool temperatures.

High rainfall and high humidity may make life uncomfortable in summer, but they are the reasons why this paradise exists. (Tullebugera Valley of Gold Coast).

Formosa lily or Taiwanese lily (Lilium formosanum) is endemic to Taiwan originally. But has naturalised in Australia and become a weed. A pretty weed though.

Nepenthes inermis/无刺猪笼草 is a pitcher plant endemic to the mountains of West Sumatra and Jambi (1500-2600m). The structure of the pitcher is unique in that it completely lacks a peristome (lip), and the lid is long and narrow. Plus, it produces incredibly thick mucilaginous pitcher liquid compared to other pitcher plants.
