Stiles constantly flirting with Derek in that over the top kind of way where it’s not really serious. Derek is aware that Stiles does it to be obnoxious but most of it centers around Derek’s physique and sick abs and his stellar face. 

The worst part is he’s heard most of it from strangers who weren’t being at all facetious. Derek sort of hopes that’s the point. 

Stiles has winked at Derek at least fifty times the entire time they’ve known each other. It’s excessive.

Derek waffles back and forth between irritated and amused. He’s not sure if he should be genuinely insulted by the remarks. And then Stiles is there when a stranger actually hits on him.

Stiles watches in amusement at first but then the guy says something about how Derek should smile and Derek hates when people say that to him for the very obvious reasons. Derek’s not even sure Stiles knows.

But either way, before Derek can respond Stiles snorts beside him. “One time Derek smiled and his whole face cracked.”

Which is hard to follow up. 

“I heard once when he was a kid Derek smiled and his face stuck like that. Medical professionals have cautioned against it.”

“Every time Derek smiles a unicorn is born, it’s a responsibility no one should take lightly.”

Eventually, the guy leaves, without saying another word as Stiles presses just a bit closer until he’s chased the guy off with awkward one liners.

When Stiles turns back around to face him, Derek is smiling. 

“Don’t you make a liar out of me,” Stiles says, pointing a finger at him. Derek knocks his hand away. 

“A unicorn?” Derek asks. Stiles grins at him.

“I believe it. It’s like a cryptid. You gotta coax it out of hiding. But when you do it’s pretty amazing.”

“Stiles,” Derek sighs. Derek isn’t sure what he’s going to say, but when Stiles winks at him, again, Derek kisses him instead.

Laura slams the flyer down on the table, rattling Derek’s mug and spilling a precious few drops of coffee over the side. He lifts his gaze to level a glare at her. 

“Oh shut up. Look at this,” she says, stabbing a manicured fingernail at the flyer, and Derek looks down.

He freezes. 

“Laura, what -“ 

“I know you like to pretend you love nothing and no one and that the entire world is an annoyance to you, but you have all his books. You’ve read them all multiple times. I can see the spines, Derek. We are going to this and you are going to meet him and get his autograph and you are going to enjoy it." 

She walks away with a triumphant smile on her face, flipping her long hair over her shoulder. He’s still just staring at the flyer, the one that reads ”Best-Selling Author Stiles Stilinski appearing Today @ 3pm, Moonstone Booksellers“.

"I’ll pick you up when I get off work,” she yells over her shoulder as she climbs the stairs. “Be ready.”

i just love the concept of stiles not being aware of his own attractiveness like

doesn’t notice immediately how his body has filled out in all the right places when he finally hits the big 18

doesn’t notice derek almost dropping several plates while they do the dishes at a pack meeting and stiles stretching lazily, arms high up in the air, shirt riding up, exposing his happy trail and sharp hipbones

doesn’t notice derek almost having an aneurism when stiles licks ice cream straight off those god damn fingers on a hot summer day

doesn’t notice the wood of the headboard of derek’s bed splintering under his palm when stiles bends over and down to pick up a college book that he dropped off the bed while doing homework at derek’s loft

doesn’t notice the ridiculous pink colour of the tips of derek’s ears when stiles shucks his shirt full of grime and blood in front of him after getting rid of the monster of the week

he does notice derek getting pissier and more irritated with him, avoiding him a little, clipped off answers and avoiding eye contact, bitching at him even more than usual and stiles just yells right back, “what the fuck is your problem lately, dude?!”, slightly hurt; he thought they were past this, and derek can smell doubt and slight fear on him, and that’s the fucking final straw and derek just backs him up against the door of stiles’ room, grabbing stiles’ face in both of his huge palms, snarling “you, you and your god damn– everything! your stupid forearms -and don’t even get me started on those stupid fingers- and your dumb pretty brown eyes and that god damn mouth of yours and y–”, he doesn’t get much further than that though, too busy being mauled by said mouth.

i had the weirdest dream so obviously i had to write a fic about it

They met at the park. It could have been a meet-cute, except Derek doesn’t do cute so it ended up just being weird.

Derek was taking Nora for a walk like he always does when she decided it would be a good idea to chase a squirrel and practically dragged him around, only stopping when another dog got in her way – probably chasing the squirrel too – and they started growling at each other.

“Hey, man. Control your dog, I’m not ready to be a grandpa!”

“My dog is a female.” Derek said, tried not to stare at the other guy’s hands as he struggled to hold his dog back.

“Well,” the other guy said, “how can you know under all – that.” He gestured towards Nora.

“She’s an Alaskan malamute.” Derek took a step back, dragging Nora away from asshole-guy and his dalmatian. “Much better than a dog that you don’t know if it’s white or black.”

The other guy stopped, looked between Derek and his dog. “How dare you.” He narrowed his eyes. “Leia is beautiful.”

“Leia?” Derek asked, smirking. “What happened to creativity these days?”

“I’ll show you creativity.” The guy growled, much like Nora was doing, then took Derek’s hand, dragged him towards a bench and started to list all the reasons he named his dog after Princess Leia.

Nora and Leia ended up getting along fabulously, and as fate would have it, so did their owners.

“Unfair.” Stiles mumbles, watching as Derek heads to the bathroom. “I’m supposed to be going to work. Stop teasing me.”

Derek smirks over his shoulder. “Are you sure? I was going to ask you to join me in the shower.”

“Gah.” Stiles says as his dick responds to Derek’s smile. “I hate you.”

Derek laughs. “I know.” He walks into the shower, moans purposefully loud when the hot water hits his body. Stiles yells at him to shut up and seconds later he’s joining Derek under the spray.

“You’re gonna kill me.” He leans in for a kiss, nips at Derek’s bottom lip as he runs his hands over Derek’s wet chest. “Fuck,” he moans when Derek presses him against the wall, rubs their dicks together, “you’re awful.”

Derek bites softly at Stiles’ pulse point, enjoys the moan it elicits from him. He’s always talking, moaning, yelling, seriously, Derek is the one who’s going to die here.

It’s been two months and they aren’t even close to getting tired from each other. It’s still hot, fun and - even more - exciting. Sometimes, in between fixing a car or two, Derek checks his phone, sends messages to Stiles, some of them explicit others just telling him about his day, the awful clients that destroy their cars and ask Derek to perform miracles. Other times, it’s Stiles that calls him, rambles about his dad and Leia, about his friends and what he ate that morning.

They haven’t talked about what they are – if they are something – but Stiles doesn’t seem in a hurry, so Derek isn’t going to force him, as much as he wants to.

Really, Derek’s got it so bad even his boss noticed and he’s seventy.
