Today is day 2 of Hanukkah, one of the most important holidays of the Jewish faith. We cannot determine who is Jewish at first sight yet many posess harsh criticism of members of the faith and those who practice it. The vitriol can be so intense the tone is identical to that imposed on Black and Brown people. It is time to remember we ALL have suffered from the bias and discrimination from a white supremacist system. Even people who “look white” experience the burden of “the isms”. Let’s learn about the important holidays outside our culture with the intention of finding commonality. Through this we connect and understand each other. Happy Hanukkah!
