“The cold is kind of the point,” he laughed. “At least in England. It was never really hot enough to go swimming. Unless you got lucky in summer. So there was a game of jumping in the freezing water as a dare. It was about if you had the guts to do it. Though, you had to know the water well enough to know when it would freeze over, don’t really know that here. But I suppose i can find something else to do.”

She smiled when she realized it was Jasper and was even relieved to have some company. “Oh come on, everyone knows that the first paycheck doesn’t count. It’s strictly for blowing on food and junk you don’t need.” She chuckled, “So, open that menu and order something. I’ve still got some money to blow.”

“See my recall my first pay check and I blow it all on talking this girl I liked to the movies,” he said with a laugh, stealing a chip from her plate. Jasper gave her a little more a moment before shrugging and opening the menu. “So be it, bossy pants.”

“Ah, no. No, you are good,” he said, looking up at her. “Um.. Jasper from the party.” Then he looked down at her and it felt like now wasn’t exactly the best time. “I thought we could finish our conversation.”

While standing near the counter of a coffee shop, she dug through her work bag that clearly hadn’t been cleaned out in quite some time. This was evident as she pulled out a folded up kid’s drawing. She smiled softly as she unfolded the small piece of paper and looked down at the crayon scribbled across the paper. It didn’t take long for her to find the small little R in the bottom corner of the drawing. She thought she had packed away everything from Rosie a while ago, not being able to look at any of her things after she passed. She hadn’t seen this picture in her bag. She pushed down the tears that threatened to fill her eyes just as the barista had called out a name that she hadn’t quite heard and she just instinctively reached for the cup, her hand bumping with another. “I’m sorry; this one is yours, isn’t it?”

“Just a beer,” he said, looking to the other. “Though i’ll take another if you are offering.” 

B L U E  E Y E S watch the other, gaze content and lazy, not unlike a cat watching a bird beyond a window. she’s drawing her own glances of course, the eternal magnetism of what she is has always garnered attention and she basks in it unconsciously, too used to the stares. her nails drum on her glass, catching the other’s attention. “ what are you drinking ?? “ she asks voice just shy of hypnotic, shifting on her stool to face them fully. “ let me buy you another , “ she wouldn’t usually , but she’s feeling oh so generous tonight and it’s not as if she doesn’t have enough money ( with all she has she could buy the place they’re in without batting an eye )

“You don’t you don’t have to eat your whole pay check in one sitting, right?” He joked, moving to sit down across from the other.

Nellie was stuffing her face full of food for what felt like the first time in forever, maybe because it was. She was grabbing multiple fries at a time in one hand, while taking bites from her burger in the other and still managing to lean over the table to take sips from her drink. It was the first time she had been able to buy herself a meal with her own money since arriving in this town recently and she was enjoying every minute of it. “Oh, hey! Can I get another napkin?” She called out to the person passing by her table, assuming it was her waiter because she was far too busy chowing down to check for sure.

daniel sharman? no, that’s just jasper westphall you know, the 25/43 year old witch. who’s been known to be charming but distance. they’ve also been called the white knight for those exact reasons. i heard that they were one of the of the survivors; but who knows how long that will last once everyone finds out that they are the half brother of jeremy gilbert and the cousin of elena gilbert.

Jasper Westphall is the child of Grayson Gilbert and a witch called Annette Wesphall born in 1987 (making them the half brothers of Jeremy Gilbert and the cousins of Elena Gilbert). Annette was 18 when she met Grayson at a college party, and though most were there for fun, Annette was there for something else. Annette was from a powerful witch coven that got it’s power from how many members it had, drawing a small amount of magic from any children born into the coven and giving it to the leader. So with power on the minds of Annette’s coven, she was sent to grow the coven and a trip to America, lead her to the party where she met Grayson, a young man well into his college journey to become a doctor.

Her pregnancy was what the coven needed, growing the coven by more than one. A pregnancy that was never shared with the birth father. Annette gave birth to her kids ( triplets ) in England and raising them with the coven. Jasper’s life with his mother was conflicting. His mother loved him, but not more than she loved the coven and being skilled at magic was one of the only ways to get his mother attention. But due to their power being ‘gifted’ to their coven’s leader, they were always going to be less powerful than a normal witch. Something that lead Jasper to seer magic. A type of magic that needed more than just brute-force to master.

Their lives were changed dramatically when an earthquake shook the city and their mother was killed along with many members of their coven, giving Jasper and his siblings the fresh start they needed, slipping away into the night, hoping the coven would just believe they were dead and move on without them. The death of his mother, caused Jasper to look into his birth father, tracking the man to Mystic Falls when it turned out the man had died just the summer before in a car crash. Leaving the Westphall siblings truly alone in the world. So they did what any normal young adults would do and they went a trip around the world, backpacking till they had seen everything their hearts desired. They celebrated their 25th birthday in new orleans. A place Jasper realizing was an easy source of money with his seer powers.

Jasper had been dating for a while when the visions came, seeing a future in which he dead shortly after he turned 25. His girlfriend growing more and more panicked as the possible day got closer and closer, before she took things into her own hands and placed him under a sleep spell just the day before Kaleb, Jasper’s twin was kidnapped by Esther and Kol took over his body. Jasper still unsure if the death she had seen was his or his brothers. Wondering if Esther was meant to take him instead of his twin.

For some reason Jasper’s girlfriend never came back for his and he was under a sleep spell till he woke up when magic was ended 2 months ago, making his way to mystic falls in the hopes of finding some kind of family, even if it was just someone related to his father to help him out. Unknown to Jasper as there was no magic, but with every other remember of his coven having died over the 18 years that he was asleep, he now holds the powers of their coven and is by default the coven regent/leader, and another witch would have to kill him to take the magic back from him.

“You know, what? Not today. Though I did see an awesome lake that I’m planning to go jump in at some point,” he said. “Though might be a good idea to wait till summer for that.”

“Ha - yeah, I’m familiar with the problem.”  She didn’t want to dig any deeper than he wanted to go, she was fine just to talk.  “I think you’re right about that, to be honest, the only two choices really are to sit back and do nothing or try and live.”

“I always liked the second one because at least that way the problems that happened where because you walked into them. And there was at least a little fun before live knocked you on your ass.”

“Sort of,” Hope nodded.  “Mostly I’m just trying not to wallow for a while.  The last year was pretty rough, but hopefully this one’s going to be better, you know?  How’s your day been?”

“Oh, you know... drama seems to find me,” he joked. Not that he was really ready to get into it. The idea that his brother and Nadia were here. It was kind of mess. He returned his attention to the other. “I’m not going to attack wallowing,” he said. “But I mean... I feel like it’s good to just- get back into the world when you don’t know what to do.”

“Someone looks like they are having a better day,” Jasper said as he spotted the girl from the party. “Let me guess... people turned up and made this place a whole lot better.” 

Sitting on a bench in the park with milkshake in hand, Hope tried to take account of everything that had happened since she’d first cast the spell to bring back the dead.  She’d been through the wringer, but at the end of the day the world was better than it had been - the people she loved had come home, she’d brought Alex home with her, and she wasn’t going into the future blind for once.  There was a hard road ahead of them, but she was a Mikaelson - she knew how to travel a hard road.

Catching the eye of someone passing by she saluted them with her shake and offered a smile.  “Beautiful day, isn’t it?”

The voice made Nadia freeze in her steps. She knew that voice. She came back to find that voice. Was it really.. “Jasper.” She whispered, fighting every instinct that wanted to run to him and hold him. “You’re okay..” 

Jasper pressed his lips together as he looked at her. “So you remember me? That’s funny...” He had more to say but he wasn’t sure how to handle her. Both wanting to hug her and kiss her but also scream at her. “What the hell happened?”

Sighing at his question, he knew he wouldn’t understand, time had hardened the previously easy going Kaleb, he was a completely different person now. “Things happened, I changed,” he replied simply, “after you disappeared things happened”

“Yeah because our life was so putting together before that,” he muttered, looking up at his brother. “Seriously, though... you okay?”

To say Nadia was struggling at the idea of being back would have been an understatement. She knew the only person she was really here for was Jasper, she needed to make sure he was okay. But just stepping foot in town again was a lot for the female. She was constantly on alert and it seemed like every noise made her jump so when she heard footsteps behind her it stopped her immediately. “Who’s there?” She called out, looking around her for the cause of the noise. @mysticofthefallenstarter​

“Not to sound like an alcoholic, but that is what drinking is for,” he joked. “You can feel like you fit anywhere if you drink enough.”
