Wesley uncle had gotten him two gift cards before leaving. One which was what his younger and his son were using to get his son as many toys and stuffed animal he wanted. Wesley thought and wondered if he should make a room just for all the stuff animals his little received. The doctor had today off and decided to grab some coffee before meeting up with Erik and Ollie. He was zoned out for a moment until she tapped his shoulders and he turned around. He smiled, nodding his head.
"Go ahead, I don't mind at all. I am in no rush," he replied back with a smile on his face. "There is no need to buy me coffee, I have a gift card which is enough for four cups of coffee. I can pay for yours and your boss," he replied. @phoebeyates

Whilst there were many pros to having Foster have his own key to her place, Phoebe discovered a very big con was that when it was the chef’s day off, he no longer had to be ushered out of her apartment when she rushed trying to get herself to work. Which meant that Phoebe, notorious for running late anyway, was now extremely late, getting too caught up in how domestically perfect Foster with his bed head looked with his morning coffee playing with Misty on the couch, the two completely immune to her unique brand of chaos in getting ready. So now, she was pushing being an hour late, and the coffee shop was busier than usual. And, despite all people-pleaser instincts refusing, she tapped the shoulder of the man in front. “I’m sorry, but is it okay if I go ahead? I’m just super late and I need to get my boss’ drink which I know is no fault of my own, but I’ll buy you yours as a thank you?”

Wesley followed and was just by his best friend side. Always there to offer his support, just in case. The snow always made the ground muddy, which made his mind go back to how muddy the ranch could get after rain. He chuckled to himself when he and his siblings would run and play in the rain, getting muddy and carrying it into the house. "I bet but I got," he replied back looking at the other. Wesley looked around and would admit that this was a great view. "I think it's amazing. It has an amazing view," he answered smiling as he looked at his best friend.
"How does it feel?" @theobailey
Theo tested the uneven ground with the tip of his crutches before walking forward in the muddy, grassy hill, minding the roots and the dry leaves and making sure he didn't face plant the mud. "This is tricky," he said to Wesley, frowning. The first time he'd been there with the old man who'd sold him the land, it hadn't looked this challenging. After a slow, careful walk, they finally made it to the tree-less spot by the lake. "Okay," Theo sighed. "This is where we'll build the house." The view was stunning from here. "What do you think?"

"True but I can understand some reasons behind that and I never take it personally if someone says no," he responded with a smile. Wesley was someone who tried to understand others and see where they were coming from. He rarely got offended by people's actions or people words. "Nice to meet you Cleo," he added with a brighter smile on his face. Wesley thought for a moment at her question. "Let me see," he spoke thinking before answering.
"It will be four years in May," he answered. "I can't honestly believe it. What about you, how long have you been in Providence?" @cleostjamess
she waved off his comment, "i get it. not everyone is willing to share." cleo was trying to do better at that. she knew how she could come off but it was in no way to offend others. she did it to protect herself. "wesley," she repeated and offering him a smile, "i'm cleo." it felt weird to introduce herself that way, even after a year of doing so but there were only two people in providence peak that knew her otherwise. "have you been here long? in providence peak, i mean."

"I also grew up on a ranch too with a lot of different animals. I really missed all that and helped me become an animal person," the doctor replied with a chuckle. Wesley loved animals, he knew in another life if he was not a doctor, he would totally be a vet. "I bet, I wonder how my grandfather did it, having two dogs and also manage a ranch and a company too. Like it's insane," he added smiling.
"Well Felix is well behaved and chill but his sister Luna is the opposite. They both love my son and always follows him around, often don't like strangers going near him," he answered. "Luna is easy to win her affection, just give her food but Felix is very picky. Am surprised how easily he warmed up to my son and brother." @jamesxreed
"Dang, that sounds heavenly," James said about growing up with two dogs. He and Amelia were unfortunately never blessed with any pets when they were young because... well, they were occupied with much more serious stuff. "But yeah, couldn't imagine adding more to your plate with that kind of schedule. I have one and already my hands are full." As if on queue to prove his point, Rey zoomed past them... then again... and again... and two more times after that.
"Are your cats as chaotic as my dog?" he asked. "I hear it can be pretty hard to win their affections."

Wesley could tell that his son was feeling sleepy and he knew that they should be heading home in a bit. He was waiting on his sister who had went to grab a few things. The little boy held on to his father's hands as he nodded looking at Mei. "Am doing good and sorry about Ollie, he is sleepy and is not talkative," he spoke with a smile on his face. "I totally get that, honestly am just trying to be the opposite of busy," he chuckled shaking his head. @meicarrillo
Mei had gone to get the kids something to drink and eat when she heard the familiar voice from behind her. Mei quickly turned on her heels to face the friendly face. It wasn't uncommon for her to be stopped by her patients when she was out at events like this, nor did she mind. She loved people, she loved her job. " Hey! " Mei said as a huge smile came to her face. " Hi, Ollie. Did you get to go see all the animals yet? " Mei asked the little boy before turning her attention to her dad. " I'm doing well, just keeping busy. How about you? "

"It is really is sometimes, but do try my best to make sure work does not get in a way of being there for important moments," when Wesley became a dad, he promised himself and he really did work hard to be there for the important moments but there were times where he had to miss or was late due to work. "I am a strong believer in traditions, especially continuing and creating traditions with my kid," he added smiling wildly.
"Makes me wish I had super powers and could control time. Just imagine how much I can get done," he laughed chuckling. "I do have sometime off, so going to spend it relaxing. Looking forward to it," he added. "I don't believe I introduce myself when we met last or did we?" @carmencarrillo
Carmen nodded in understanding as she listened to the doctor's response, sympathizing with his busy schedule and longing for some leisure time. "It's tough when work keeps you tied up," she agreed, offering a supportive smile. "But it's great that you're considering taking your son to games. Those memories can really last a lifetime," she added, reflecting on her own experiences growing up. As the doctor mentioned his indecision and lack of time for exploration, Carmen's expression softened with empathy. "I hear you. Sometimes it feels like there just aren't enough hours in the day," she remarked with a sigh, feeling a sense of camaraderie in their shared struggle to find balance amidst life's demands. "Hopefully, you'll find some time soon to unwind and explore a bit. You deserve it," she added encouragingly, hoping to offer a small ray of optimism amidst the doctor's busy schedule. @wesxkennedy

Wesley loved animals, he thought back about growing up with two dogs and lots of other animals especially since his grandfather owned a ranch, which he still visited some time with his son. He remember how him and his siblings would play with their two dogs, running after them in their ranch as they grandfather tried to get some work done but must times end up failing and playing with his grandkids. The male chuckled to himself, before looking up as they spoke.
"I already have two cats and with my busy schedule as a surgeon and a single dad. I don't think I have the time for another pet but I will admit and say that am always tempted. I did grow up with two dogs though" @jamesxreed

The professor had convinced himself (something he seemed to be doing a lot these days) that he wanted Rey to be able to play with the dogs who were up for adoption. To be fair, Rey was indeed having her fun playing with them but it was definitely testing James' self-control not to adopt another dog and make the excuse that Rey was lonely. Convincing himself yet again, he reminded himself that he barely had time to take care of Rey now. He didn't want to end up neglecting a young pup.
As he sat and watched Rey play, he spoke to the person beside him. "Do you have one of your own or are you here considering of adopting one?" he asked.

starter for @meicarrillo
Wesley had just gotten off the phone with his brother who had just put his son to bed. He was kinda glad that his brother had convinced him to go out today, especially since all Wes had been doing was working and also taking care of Ollie, being in dad mode nonstop. It did feel nice to be out but also strange. As he put his phone in his pocket he saw Mei and smiled. "Hey, how is it going. It's been awhile," he spoke with a bright smile on his face, excited to see a friend.

Wesley did not expect the place to be filled, it felt strange because he did not remember the last time he was social or out and about. Work had been busy and he had been pulling in more time with his son and finishing a few things up. It was interesting for the doctor how he had changed between now and five years ago. He was glad when she said something and he smiled. "Thanks so much, I did not want to assume or something," he spoke taking a seat, his voice warm and kind. "I was Wesley by the way," he introduced himself. @cleostjamess
cleo was starting to do better at spending less time at work and more time trying to trying to get a hang of things around providence peak. she felt as though it was time to start making friends, to stop letting her fear hold her back. so she pushed herself out and went to brunch on her own, one leg crossed over the other as she peered over the menu that was place on the table in front of her. she could feel someone lingering close to her table and she assumed it was due to the lack of seating and the mass amount of people that has decided to do the same thing she did. glancing in their direction, she took a deep breath. it was time to step out of her comfort zone. "you're...welcome to join me. i mean, there's room. it's just me." she spoke, offering a small smile.

Wesley was walking around, his brother and Ollie were doing their own thing. Honestly, the doctor was a bit tired and sleepy and in need of some coffee but really he was enjoying himself and he liked seeing people having fun. He came back to reality when he heard their voice. "Sure, it's been awhile since I have played and let's see if all the years of playing football and baseball in high school can come in handy." @jessica-nichols
where: friday evening cornhole games who: open ( @providencepeakstarters )
There were several rows of cornhole boards set up on the lawn, kids picking out their favorite colored bags to throw, a few adults setting up their own games. Jess couldn't remember the last time they'd played the game themselves, maybe at a birthday party or something back in high school. Grabbing the tub of bean bags, Jess grabbed one out, offering it to someone loitering nearby. "Want to play a game? I have no idea how good I'm going to be. I have pretty good hand/eye coordination, but I haven't played this is literally years."

"Honestly I believe that," the doctor replied as he nodded his head. He himself had not been to a game in ages and he tried he tried to remember the last time he went to a game or was even in a game. Wes had been so busy and he had not had time to do anything fun lately but he was glad he had some time now. "It's the same with my grandfather, I did do sports in high school and kinda missed it and might start taking my son to games, like my grandfather did," he added chuckling softly before letting out a sigh.
"Honestly, I have not made a decision, been working nonstop and have not had time to really explore at all." @carmencarrillo

"I have to admit it's been years since I've been to a baseball game." Carmen admitted, letting herself tug the baseball cap farther onto her forehead to block the sun. "I used to watch a ton of professional baseball games with my dad growing up, and even though I've gotten out of it more since I've been older, this is the next best thing in my opinion." she laughed. "Nothing like bringing in an old love in your home town, am I right?" She returned her attention back to her kids that were sitting next to her before she returned her attention to the one she'd been talking to before. "What's been your favorite part of the extravaganza so far? Benji here says the food, but it's not every day that he gets to eat funnel cake before dinner. And Bristol has been loving these vendor stands. She's social so she doesn't mind just walking around socializing."

"They really do, I even saw some old pictures of when I was a kid with my grandfather and for a moment my brother that was Ollie before realizing who it was. Can't believe how time goes by fast," he sighed. Wes was once changed of the future and hated change but now he embraced it, he no longer held on to the past and moments like he used to. "I can't wait to see how Ollie grows up and I know he is going to grow into an amazing individual," he smiled softly.
"Oh for sure. I was a rebellious child and got into trouble but also knew how to talk my way out of things. Rebelliousness is just another one of the Kennedy trait." @aliciamillergarcia
"They look so different, don't they? Sometimes when an old photo of Hazel shows up on my phone it's like I'm looking at a whole different person. Time slips through our fingers way too fast." It was a wonderful thing, seeing them grow and become their own person, but the bittersweet effect of it was evident on any parent. "You were a troublemaker? I find that hard to believe," Alicia teased, knowing Wes' work ethic made it difficult to picture that possibility. "You are doing a good job. Trust me."

"Some of these are for my son and the others for my friend and their kids," he answered with a smile. Wesley could not help but smile because after all his sister and brothers often tend to tease him about his style but Wesley loved and enjoyed his style and it had worked for him for years and saw no reason in changing them. "Ya, I did see some colors in red, purple and dark blue too," he answered.
"My son is still too young to start reminding me of stuff but if he is anything like me, he would definitely wait to the last minute to let me know. I was that way with my grandfather, it always annoyed him." @carmencarrillo
"I do." Carmen nodded, eyeballing the object again before she let herself smile, looking at the other. Her smile grew as her attention was brought back to him and she shrugged before doing what she often did, giving her opinion. "I mean, I don't know if it's for you or not, so I'm kind of just assuming, but if you're buying that for yourself, I think that color is a great choice and it matches your eyes. Say, did they have any others in different colors? Like a red maybe? I'm thinking that may be what I need for my son's school project shirt he waited for the last minute to warn me of." she sighed. @wesxkennedy

Wesley listened to the other, nodding his head before letting out a soft sigh. "Now I get it and honestly it," he replied shaking his head in understanding. Growing up with his family, Wesley and his siblings often were forced to attend events where it was all formalities and Wes hated it and found it boring. "I can understand, growing up I was forced to attend events because my family was prominent in town and plus we own some of the largest companies and it was torture, everyone was formal and so serious. I understand you pain," he added turning to look at them. @freddiefkncrane

Freddie replaced the cap on his flask and let out a little sigh. His solitude was ruined, but at least he hadn't been busted by the university faculty. The press would have a field day, and Nathan would throw a fit. "It's not the attention that bothers me," he admitted, tucking his flask back into its hiding place in his jacket. "It's the formalities. Everyone's so stiff. All for some scraps." He was going to give Nathan an earful for leaving him to do all this stuff; he was yearning for the warehouse.

Moving from Austin Texas to a Boston and from Boston to Providence was massive especially when it came with moving with a barely year old child which made it even more stressful. He remembered how long he had gotten a few times trying to navigate and figure where things were and now, he could find any place with his eyes close. "I will say since maybe May or June of 2022. Almost two years now which is insane," he answered shaking his head as he realized that he has been here in providence for that long. @mctildatautou
Matilda found herself endlessly drawn to the flow of crowds. While others strayed away, she gravitated towards them, finding a sense of inspiration in the energy it offered. In the city, she found her solace amidst the towering skyscrapers, each window a glimpse into someone's story. She often created stories for those lives within those illuminated squares as a pass time.
Yet, in Colorado, Matilda discovered a different kind of charm. Here, amidst a community she wasn't familiar with, she found a sense of belonging. With each new encounter, she wove herself into the providence peak's fabric.
"Oh, thank god," she breathed, a nervous laughter leaving her lips as she adjusted the tote bag that constantly slipped from her shoulder all afternoon. "How long has it been since you moved here?" Matilda curiously asked, completely forgetting the need for formal introductions. Names were never her forte, anyway, so she simply skipped past that part. @wesxkennedy

"Nah, his uncle should be use to it by now. My brother knows that Ollie will not want to leave his side for awhile and would want to show his uncle all the books I have gotten him and also the stuff animals too," he replied with a chuckle shaking his head. Wesley was really lucky, he had family that loved Ollie so much and treated him like he was their own. "You are correct it really does. I am really lucky"
"I can understand that. At least it's better than dramatic has mine has been," he nodded his head as he sighed. "It's okay if you don't want to talk about it," @sophramirxz
"Have you warned his uncle about the assault that will be coming his way?" Of course Sophia assumed that this was routine for the little family and the uncle would make his stop knowing that the little boy was excited. "Has he always been close to him? It's nice when extended family gets involved. It takes a village to raise a child, at least that's what I've heard so the more people the merrier."
"I don't think that my life has been very entertaining or even positive." She'd gone through a breakup which was abrupt and she hadn't really processed all of it. Rather, she was doing everything she could to avoid even thinking about it altogether.

"Right, I was cleaning and backing up my files and found a picture of Ollie the day he came home from the hospital and I could not believe and spent hours just looking at pictures and thinking back to moments," he chuckled as a sigh escaped his lips. "Ollie seems to inherit a lot of things for me and even my uncle and aunt saying he is just like me when I was his age. If he is really like me, then we really have to brace our selves because these three will be unstoppable," he added chuckling.
"Thanks," he smiled softly. "That means a lot, just trying to do my best and give all I can at this whole parent thing."
"It's crazy how you can barely remember them at that age? Like, I keep telling myself it was just yesterday and then I find it so hard to picture Hazel as a newborn baby." It's like all the memories blur into one and thinking about that fine detail makes it even worse. "They might be in the same class. In which case, he has to brace himself for the crazy duo that is Hazel and her best friend Maggie." At least she really hoped that Maggie and Hazel would be together. She knew Ben had to speak to someone at the preschool to make that happen. Something about cashing in a favor. "You have managed a lot on your own with Ollie as it is. It's remarkable, really."
