A partial guide to my best friend.
She is an anomoly that should be treated well and with caution.
My best friend is very very clingy. She doesn't like that part of herself though, even if many people say it's fine, it's something you shouldn't encourage too much or she may resent you because it's something she does not want in herself.
She would rather prefer if others cling to her, but Ben is relatively prideful and refuses to acknowledge that she may or may not want attention from significant individuals.
When Ben mentions that she has something bothering her and would rather not talk about it. That's where the conversation will end. No if. No ands. No buts. She knows very well what it is and it is somewhat similar to previous issues. That is.
Regarding her so called selfishness in vying for her friend's attentions.
It is not apparent. I tend to keep this away from her as much as I can to the best of my abilities but Ben ultimately doesn't like the feeling of. Isolation from her friend. She's only mentioned this to myself for her pride exceeds that of a normal human beings when it comes to this issue and as much as she would love to tell other people about it.
She is relatively prideful and only people she views as an extreme role model or looks up to heavily such as myself will receive this information. It is also very important to note that when she feels insecure about herself she does have a horrible tendency to talk about other people more so than usual. Another issue is that this vulnerability will only be mentioned once. And it is u pto the receiver as I quote, on whether or not to disclose this information to select individuals.
Not saying that everytime she talks about other people she's insecure about herself. It is only evident when she starts to write to you more often than not where that becomes the warning signal that Ben is very tired. Ben doesn't want to fight herself for too long and the only relief from that without actually telling anyone is to write.

Ben's worry for this year as I've noticed from seeing her and talking with her is that she doesn't like it when I do things without her.
It happens and it's one thing she doesn't like about herself is when this slight irk of hers arrives out of the blue. Most of the time it does not bother her as her need to know what her friends do outweighs this supposed selfish part of herself. But once in a blue moon, Ben has this moment where she feels pain from being left out of something and she doesn't say it.
Ben just has a horrible complex about it.
I've been a witness to it and frankly I can understand it happens.
but even with that.
She doesn't except it as herself. She doesn't accept it as something she wants to do and thusly rejects it completely.
This complete rejection to annihilate a trait she deems as in her way is her self defense.
And her reasoning behind it is her friends need to feel at ease with her.
Because it's a monster.
