I have been thinking about the importance of being non-judgmental towards people who change their labels, whatever those labels are.

Found out you weren’t autistic but actually schizophrenic? Thought you were ace and aro but you were just a late bloomer? Tried out new pronouns and a new name, but eventually learns that you are cool with your assigned gender? Thought you were gay, but then one day you also fell in love with someone of another gender? 

….And so on and so forth.

We NEED to normalize this shit. No one should feel like they need to uproot their whole identity and move to a new blog because their label changed. No one should be shamed for getting that one step closer to figuring themselves out - even if that step is a step towards the “norm”, we need to celebrate the bravery and strength it takes to come out again and again and again.

I’m 28, and I’m STILL unclear on where I am on the ace and aro spectrum, if I’m even there at all. If you’d asked me 6 years ago, I would have told you I’m a monogamous, neurotypical, cis “bicurious” girl despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. I can’t stand to think where I would be today, if I hadn’t been allowed to question this image.

the thing folks living in Christian dominant cultures gotta realize is that even if you’re not Christian, your basic understanding of religion and spirituality and morality is still being filtered through a Christian lens. your very concept of what religion is and does is filtered through that lens.

Concept: an apocalyptic or post apocalyptic tv show centred on a group of disabled protagonists

Must include:

-enough details about how they survive that no one can call it “unrealistic”

-mental and physical disabilities 

-a character who isn’t necessarily contributing to the survival of the group, but is not abandoned or looked down upon

-at least one character whose disability is actually less of a problem for them now that the world is ending/ended (example: autistic character who used to be constantly overstimulated but no longer is)

Optional features:

-abled person says “the only disability in life is a bad attitude” and gets told where to stuff it

-creatively weaponized mobility aids/assistive devices

-character who abled people think isn’t worth helping because of their disability, but actually has at least one skill essential to the survival of the group

-every time an abled person says something ignorant, all present disabled people look into the camera like they’re on the office

I just watched a kid break down in the bookstore because his books for the semester totaled $600 and that’s the american university system in a nutshell

man i still rly like the idea that after he dies, taako becomes a full-time emissary of istus à la the reapers’ jobs for the raven queen, except, taako’s new career has more to do with untangling knots in fate’s tapestry. kind of like what he did in refuge. he course corrects the timeline when things go awry… unpicks stitches, as it were.

like sometimes there’s a freak accident that causes someone to die too soon - maybe an adventurer was in the wrong place at the wrong time, maybe they got kidnapped by some cultists who then sacrificed them to a demon prince! and that just won’t do.

so kravitz shows up to reap some fools but oh, taako’s already here… and hm… he’s already taken care of the cultists… and wait, is he unlawfully resurrecting the victim??? taako, you can’t -

kravitz says, well, yes, i see that, but -

taako says, i got those good cleric levels, baby, healing spells all up in this ish.

kravitz says, yes, you’re very powerful, love, but the laws of life and death exist for a reason. you can’t just raise whoever you want!
