Romans 12:12

This verse is a helpful nugget of guidance to get us through dark times. As a believer in Christ we have hope and not just a random hope, but a confident hope. We can confidently believe in a time when hurt, pain, and sorrow will end. It's comforting to know amidst all of your despair and discouragement there is one thing you can be sure of which is that it will come to an end.

If You Claim

If you claim to be religious but don't control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. (NLT)

James 1:26

Our tongues can get the better of us if we let them. But it doesn't have to be that way if we work on improving control over our tongue. When our tongue goes uncontrolled it allows others to connect the things we say to what we profess to believe. Let's not let our uncontrolled tongues negate all that we stand for and who we believe in. Put your effort in holding back your tongue as an effort to improve your self-control.

Confess

But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. (NLT) 1 John 1:9

Ask God to check your heart and life and show you areas where you might need to ask for forgiveness from Him. Then, it is your turn to forgive those who have offended you. We can even choose to forgive them in advance! Ask God to forgive you and to help you forgive others.

Philippians 4:13

While learning from your failures can be beneficial, have you ever thought about learning from your successes? If you build upon your past successes, you gain more confidence and knowledge from your previous works. It's more important to take small steps in the right direction. Remember that God is blessing you with each successful step, and He rewards your patience along the way.

The result of faith is peace. When we learn to trust in the creator of our souls we can find rest in our lives. Even when we face trying circumstances, we may grieve but we don’t crumble because of the strength of the one that lives inside us. Go in peace today.

See and Listen

For they look, but they don't really see. They hear, but they don't really listen or understand. (NLT)

Matthew 13:13

God speaks to us all the time, but we're not always ready to listen. We see and listen through advice from other Godly people, reading the Bible, and prayer. If you're in need of God's wisdom, focus on seeing, not just looking; focus on listening, not just hearing. Sow these behaviors now and reap the rewards of peace and grace.

Burnout is something that can steal our health, joy, purpose, and even our faith! God knows that we need rest to be able to flourish. How can you begin to commit to intentional rhythms of rest in your life? How can you seek his renewing strength daily?

WORDS OF WISDOM and Encouragement

IS THERE SOMETHING YOU ARE BELIEVING GOD FOR? DOES IT SEEM LIKE IT’S TAKING A LONG TIME TO COME TO PASS? Be encouraged today because the Bible says that through faith and patience, you will inherit God's promises. So DON'T GIVE UP! Keep thanking God for His faithfulness in your life. Trust that His Word is true. KEEP PRAYING and keep an attitude of faith and expectancy. Keep asking. KEEP SEEKING. KEEP KNOCKING ON THE DOOR, and it will be opened to you. It may seem like it’s taking a long time, but know this: GOD IS WORKING BEHIND THE SCENES ON YOUR BEHALF. He is orchestrating things in your favour. His timing is always perfect! As you stay faithful in your prayers and thanksgiving, the Lord will move mightily on your behalf. He’ll take you places that you’ve never been before.

God Is Perfect

As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. (KJV) ( Psalm 18:30 )

God doesn't require us to be perfect. We often get caught up running around working to be a complete example of God's perfection. Actually, not being perfect is better. In our lack of perfection, we depend exclusively on God's grace to get by. Imperfection reveals our need for Him in our lives. If you are walking through today feeling like you just aren't able to do anything right, it's okay. He will cover us with His love and grace.

Think about all things the Lord has done for you today, thank Him and tell everyone what he has done for you. Praise Him regardless of your circumstances for He is always good to us.

I’ve been dealing with a lot as has everyone with situations that left us with feelings of hopelessness and fear. We have to lean on God in these trying times. Even though we may feel like God is far away, we must always remember that He is always with us.
