Unfortunately, when it comes to leftist white people, a lot of people abstained from voting altogether. They didn't like either candidate and have the luxury of abstaining as a "statement". Which I hate.

But I also hate that Dems sit in the middle policy wise and don't try to actually appeal to their voters through anything but being the less bad choice. It doesn't inspire people to turn out, and it's why even though progressive policies are so popular, the left doesn't win by overwhelming margins. They don't give people someone to vote for, only someone to vote against.

And when it comes to white people, who don't have quite as much at stake personally, it just means they don't show up.

I can't even tell you how many white progressives didn't bother going to the polls. Because they feel like nothing matters, the policies they want will never happen. And they don't have the personal experience of losing the rights they already have.

And we won't ever try to save y'all ever again

I hope this finally makes it sink into the dems that voting just to vote against someone, doesn't inspire people to turn out.

They have to have something to vote FOR. Twice now. They need to stop sitting in the middle and presenting themselves as "the better option" and actually try to appeal to what the LEFT wants.
