If the bill passes, it would make NSW the last state in Australia to permit voluntary assisted dying. It restricts euthanasia to terminally ill people who would die in no more than 12 months. Two doctors will have to assess applicants, and the bill makes a criminal offence of attempting to induce a person to apply for voluntary assisted dying.

Progressive movements in the US towards sustainable alternatives to traditional burial & cremation. In comparison to cremation and burial, composting emits zero emissions into the environment. Cremation burns fossil fuels which contribute to emissions, while a body being buried requires space for a grave site, with a number of resources needed in order to maintain a burial ground. . . . .

Courts will consider 15 issues when considering children’s claims that they did not receive enough from their parent’s estate. These range from the value of the deceased’s estate and whether the parent has already provided for their children during their lifetime. Beneficiaries shouldn't always assume they'll be provided for!! . . . .

With lock down and funeral restrictions, people still need grieving time, and yet the death care sector is not recognised an essential service either by the public or officially by the government in Melbourne. Workers across the death industry are calling the pandemic the most difficult time in their careers. To do their job, death care workers, such as embalmers, cemetery workers and celebrants have put their own health at risk and had to go to new lengths to keep themselves and mourners safe. . . .

Organising a funeral is an extremely emotional process, investigation into funeral pricing models in Australia have shown that quite often the packages of goods & services listed are not consistent across the board, and quite often it's not clear if it's essential or optional. The aim is for easily accessible pricing information so that consumers can make the best choice for their needs, consumers can then start to compare like-for-like services. . . .
