Children are always the ones to notice a thing out of place. They may not offer entirely reasonable reasons why, but they notice things that grown ups don’t. The Doctor knew this as well as any grown up possibly could and should not be particularly surprised to find that a little girl was watching him watch the world like he hadn’t seen it before.
She wasn’t shy about it; her grey eyes were big and narrowed, because this one really /was/ acting funny, playing with a little wallet like that, making little noises to himself. It wasn’t clear if he was comparing something to the building in front of him or what, and no matter how close she came up beside him she couldn’t see over his shoulder; she barely cleared his waist, so she continued to watch.
It was fortunate that he was talking to himself! Cleared things right up for her. “Oh, that’s what I said, too,” she chirped, looking past the pointy-haired man. “I told Mum that’s what it said, but she said no, it’s just an acronym.” The word was offered up very carefully (obviously new to her vocabulary) and she pointed to the large sign above their heads. “They’re just big letters, though; don’t know how anyone’s supposed to just /know/ a thing like that. Stands for… I don’t remember. /Something./”
