i like to think that roxie richter is bad with kids not in the sense that she doesn’t connect with them, but in the sense that she would 100% be considered a “bad influence” bc she’s really fucking irresponsible & immature. basically the equivalent of that one distant uncle or older cousin who does shit that the kids love but the parents would fucking HATE. wanna watch an r-rated movie? sure kid, knock yourself out. need help with your homework? i don’t understand it either, that’s what the morning before school is for anyway. not allowed to have sugar, but don’t wanna eat your healthy snacks? neither would i, that shit looks gross, let’s go get ice cream. fuck it, you wanna drive there? five minutes into a babysitting gig and she’s already letting them loose in the backyard with real swords & putting random shit in the microwave to see whether or not it’ll explode

all that aside, she’s NEVER having her own kids. she’s capable of being bare minimum friendly to them but she doesn’t have any actual maternal instinct & she’d be genuinely horrible with babies or toddlers bc she gets super awkward & uncomfortable around them. she can’t handle all the screaming and the messes, she doesn’t understand why people think they’re cute when they just look like little ugly aliens to her, and the concept of Motherhood™ & all the expectations that come with it makes her wanna puke. especially in the context of growing up as a lesbian in the 90s; she already had way too many people telling her she’ll “change her mind” and “hasn’t met the right man yet” and she’s not about to prove them right anytime soon. she has a cat & that’s more than enough.

she’s also not above scaring kids for fun. she’s notorious on halloween for frightening away many an unsuspecting trick-or-treater bc her experience as an artist AND a (half-)ninja have taught her a thing or two…and if they happen to leave their candy behind in the chaos, well then, finders keepers

also let’s be real ramona flowers would not be a good mom. i try not to judge others’ hcs but i have to side-eye people just a little who talk abt her having kids with scott (or whoever else they ship her with) bc i Know she would never want that. neither would kim, for that matter. as for envy i feel like maybe at first she was sold The Fantasy™ of having a family when she was still in love with todd and thought they were gonna be together forever but once they break up she ultimately realizes she wants to focus on her career and be a material gworl <3

Something that gets left out of discussions about the US’s history with Israel and support for Zionism is that the US supported Israel because they didn’t want Jewish people in the US. The US restricted policies that would allow Jewish refugees to relocate to the US to escape Hitler’s regime between 1938 and 1941. The US support of Israel was because the US was antisemitic and not because they had so much sympathy for the persecution of Jewish people that they wanted to create a ‘safe homeland’ for them. They wanted them to go anywhere BUT the US.

I don’t think enough people talk about RSD (rejection sensitive dysphoria). Like, it’s so embarrassing, especially as an adult.

Sometimes, you need to be told that you were out of line or that you fucked up. And I want to take the reprimand/criticism and work on it.
