A brief spoiler-free account of the first Sparks show of the tour: Kyoto!

1. There was a dog show going on at the venue immediately beforehand. Not a traditional dog show, I imagine, because most of the dogs had outfits. A dog fashion show?

2. The venue was so good. Completely (but gently) tiered seating, and almost everyone stood up right away and did not sit back down.

(Even the 3 people I did see sitting at first eventually got up)

3. I met up with wonderful Sparks friends and made a new one! You'll know who you are; if you're reading this, hello!

4. Russell spoke a few words of Japanese (including begging for water when he misplaced his water bottle. Ron offered his own, but Russell did not want it.)

5. The show was incredible. I'm so grateful that they've unusually come here for the first shows... thank you, Sparks ;_;

A proper account to come at the end of the Japanese tour, with more details and things that might happen on the other legs of the tour, which I'll be sure to tag for. That's all for now!

Top 5 albums: uhhhhhg impossible question for me, I think I form my attachments to individual songs more so than full albums and honestly I’d love a stack of bracelets from different albums :) But for the sake of metrics I’ll say A Steady Drip Drip Drip, The Girl is Crying in Her Latte, Hello Young Lovers, Exotic Creatures of the Deep, and Propaganda.

Team Ron or Team Russell: metrics be damned on this one, sorry :’) I’m a steadfast Team Both and I will defend that with my life.

I am suuuuuuuuuuper behind on making bracelets even though I started months ago... I'm planning to dedicate this weekend to making a bunch. So if you have a specific request for one, message me and I'll do my best make it happen!

And since a couple of us have decided to follow suit (and because my Cat Wrangler brain loves rough estimates of participation/demand), I made a masterpost for giving/trading. If you'd to participate, then simply repost this here masterpost then add your own info in the body and tags. Also feel free to use the Sparkslets hashtag to share your handiwork!

In the body of your post, include the following info:

Trading/Giving/Hoping Are you trading bracelets? Giving them out to whomever? Did you not make any but are hoping to receive some? State any and all that apply. Top 3 Albums: (or Top 5, if you must) No guarantee you'll get a Sparkslet representing your favorite album, but it's a fun metric. (Want a whole stack of Hippopotamus-related bracelets? Maybe it's someone else's fave too and they're itching to use every bead and letter to prove it.) And you never know, another fan might have one --or make one!-- just for you. Team Ron or Team Russell: YesYesYes, we love them both. But who do you love most? (Again, for metrics.)

In your tags, include the following info:

The #Sparkslets hashtag... So we can find you!

The region of the show/s you're attending... Japan (JP), the UK, Europe (EU), or North America (NA). Americans, add your state's 2-letter abbreviation.

...the city, and which night if there's more than one date there. If you're doing multiple dates in the same city, mark them as 1, 2, etc. If you're doing multiple cities, give them each their own tag. If you're going to a festival, use the festival's name. For example, if someone was going to both London shows AND one in Paris, their location tags would look like this: UK: London: Night 1 UK: London: Night 2 EU: Paris
