Small thing but my opinion on IDW Prowl as a continuity version of him tends to change depending on who I'm talking to. When I'm talking to people who call all versions of Prowl assholes/a prick I have my big speech about how it's incredibly important to separate your views of a character depending on what continuity they're from. IDW Prowl and G1 Prowl are insanely different takes on one guy and it's unfair to judge all versions of him by the standard the most popular, notorious version of him has set. It's also important to recognize IDW Prowl as a postmodern criticism of authority and police in general, and he shouldn't be reduced to a superficial asshole character in thoughtful conversation- but you shouldn't, like, project all of this onto Marvel Prowl or G1 Prowl, who weren't written with this explicitly in mind. But when it's people who discredit the way IDW Prowl's written entirely and say that he completely ruined the original G1 character I'm like well okay maybe IDW Prowl should've tried to blow up Caminus twice for good measure
