Many have already heard but I am very excited to be taking on the role of Manager of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society for Vic/Tas in 2020. I have been quite involved with the SMWS for some time, and it will be excellent to formally assist in delivering great events and service to our members. The Society is the world’s largest whisky club, established in 1983 it now has approximately 30,000 members across over 20 countries, and is a multi-award winning independent bottler. There are no words for how proud and elated I am to have taken out the global title of Independent Bottler (non-Scotch) of the Year. Not only that, but the two bottles we entered both got medals: a silver and a gold. The awards are determined by a judging panel of experts, some of the industry's leading minds (and palates), who I have admired and respected since I first got into whisky.
