Oracle of Morrowind
Part 1/?
It was after his evening meal that Saeta started getting that feeling again. The pressure in his head was now the common sign that a vision or ‘experience’ was going to happen soon. They didn’t hurt anymore. No. Only long ago when he would deny or refuse them. That is when it would hurt, because after hours, days, or even weeks of denial, the visions would force their way through, throwing the Dunmer into powerful convulsions. He would seize until the vision was complete, eyes bloodshot and breath heavy. At least..they weren’t supposed to hurt.
Now he let them happen. He no longer resisted. From where they came, he did not know. The only thing he could assume was that they were brought on by some Daedric power. Perhaps from Mephala, Boethia, or Azura themselves. Dunmer usually didn’t worship or even believe in the Divines that were so beloved in the lands of Tamriel, but Saeta Telvanni wasn’t one who would deny their existence. Not with the visions he would have.
He was the youngest son of the Arch-Magister, though it had been years since he’d seen his father. Not that this bothered him anymore. He had been taken at a young age to be an apprentice to a grand Telvanni wizard, but when he started showing signs of visions of prophecy and started spouting predictions that never once ran false, he was again, moved to a temple, guarded and consulted by several leaders. Even when he knew nothing about past histories, things a child wouldn’t know or understand back then, he would talk about them as if he’d been there. It was strange and some sought to end him, but his father placed mages at the temple to guard his youngest son. That, however was decades ago. He still looked very much youthful and rather young in the eyes of the Dunmer people, but no longer a naive child.
The wizards and mages had taken to referring to Saeta as ‘The Oracle’, a name he’d grown tired of. When he was young, it was all frightening to him, but now no fear or lonliness kept him up at night. Not like it did in the beginning.
