Reminder that notes/online attention are not a reliable indicator of how well a campaign is going.

You might see fundraising posts with thousands of notes on your dash daily and think to yourself "this person must be doing fine!"

I wish that were true. I saw a post earlier referring to people with fundraisers as "those fortunate enough to have internet clout" but unfortunately internet clout is not a currency that can buy food and other necessities. It's only a testament to how much effort that person spends desperately networking in order to make ends meet, and often not succeeding at that. These people do not have an advantage.

I spotlight for @dr-anas96 and his posts consistently get a lot of notes. He's vetted here.

And where does that get him?

He's barely at 19% of his goal, as of today, December 13th, which marks 6 months since he started fundraising.

Anas is slowly dying of starvation and of his illnesses that he cannot currently get treated for. Don't be fooled by the amount of notes this will get. If you can spare a dollar please don't hesitate to donate here.

For long, Samir @samirahmed125 and his family had thought that Samir's brother had been killed.

Recently they learned that he is alive, imprisoned by the occupation but set to be released.

This is a bright ray of hope for Samir and his family. They are overjoyed.

But Samir is still in danger of losing his leg. He needs to seek treatment in Egypt to save it.

His campaign is at 6%. Last donation was two days ago.

Handala (حنظلة) is a symbol of Palestinian resistance. He was created in 1969 by political cartoonist Naji al-Ali, critical of Israel as well as Arab regimes.

Handala is 10 years old, the age Naji was when he was forced to leave his home during the 1948 Nakba, and is always seen from his turned back. Today, Handala is still 10 years old. On the day Handala is able to return home, he will then grow up and be seen from the front.

Naji died on August 29, 1987, victim of an assassination. Naji lives on through Handala.

The journey for medical cases from Gaza to receive treatment abroad has begun, and I am in desperate need of your help now more than ever. I beg you from the depths of my heart to extend a hand of charity and donate as soon as possible, before it's too late. Our travel date is 12-1-2025, but I do not have enough to cover the costs of travel and treatment for my children, my wife, and myself. We are living in difficult and tragic conditions, with no one to support us in this ordeal. Please, do not leave us in this harsh situation, as each passing moment only increases our suffering.

The winter doesn't stop, and the cold is unbearable, while the pain in my heart grows with each passing day. My children's illness shows no mercy, and they are in a constant battle for life.
