As someone who really loves and enjoys spending time with kids but super doesn't want any of my own, I think Shane's story in the L Word reboot is SUPER important. It's crucial that women/afab people see other women/afab people in media who are good with kids yet don't want kids. It is not selfish. It is not bad. It is not "wasted opportunity". It's important that women/afab people, especially queer women/afab people, know they can love having interactions with children as a mentor, an aunt, a friend, family, etc without having to feel guilty for not wanting their own. It's such a stigma that if you're good with kids and have a uterus/identify as a woman that you should want kids and that is just so not true. I'm really thankful for the L Word Generation Q for showing that and for talking about it.

Will there ever be a better actress than Tatiana Maslany, who flawlessly played over 10 characters with distinct personalities and characteristics and did it so well that it was easy to forget that two characters having a conversation in a scene were played by the same actress? Not only that, but also playing characters impersonating other characters and selling their mannerisms so well that viewers could tell exactly who she was supposed to be even when pretending to be someone else? The answer is no, there will not.
