“What,” he looks very pleased with himself as he totes away an armful of peaches he’d just got his hands on, “it's better than just sitting around lazily. You can’t tell me you don’t have even a little bit of passion for adventure or even just a quick thrill.”

He takes one off the small pile and takes a bite humming in delight, they weren’t too ripe like he’d feared they might be when they were just sitting around like that. The idea had been a bit of a spur of the moment plan but Hermenost had been in the right place at the right time. So everything had worked out just fine in the end and he’d got himself a nice batch of peaches for the trouble. He presses the fruit back to his mouth and just bites in and holds onto it with his teeth so his newly freed hand can pluck a new one off the top of the pile. He holds the fruit out to the elezen expecting him to just take it from him.

He muffles out a few barely understandable words of, “Here take it.”

Payment for the trouble, it's as good as any money in his eyes so it’ll have to do.

“Graham crackers?” 

He hesitantly takes one from the other’s hand and gives it a cautionary smell. It's a light sweet smell that he gets a whiff of and is pleasantly surprised by how much he likes it. After he’s sure it's going to be fine if he eats it he takes a big chomp out of the snack he was handed and is pleasantly surprised again. The light sweetness was even in the cracker and it was really yummy, he had something before that tasted similar to this once upon a time but this was even yummier than that. It vaguely reminded him of the Ginger cookies he was tasked to hand out to orphans long ago. It's a nice sentimental feeling as he sits next to the other male chomping down on these graham crackers.

When he finishes he licks his lips and smiles at the guy who had given him the tasty treat, “Thanks for the snack! It was great.”

“If you have extras again I’d really like to have some more if you’re not opposed to sharing with me.”

Its been such a long time since Arishan has felt the need to swipe something. With all the coin he’s earned and spent he’s never felt like he’s ever needed something since becoming a Warrior of Light. Yet coming to this brand new world and his money not being any good puts that feeling back in his restless fingers as he eyes something particularly shiny laying unattended. He turns his head slowly from side to side watching for any eyes that might be watching him as he reaches for the small round object. When he sees no one he picks it up and looks it over before going to stuff it into one of his bags. That’s when he feels eyes on him and his ears quirk back to listen for any sounds before he turns his head and meets with the eyes of a man with long hair. Its not as if the man is giving him a particularly nasty look, but something is unsettling about him and Arishan feels his ears lowering against his head as he looks away.

“I-I wasn’t stealing it,” the words sound like hollow lies even to his own ears and he flinches, “I was going to pay for it, I promise.” 

He doesn’t have any money and the second he looks away Arishan is dropping the item and leaving the store.

 “Oh? And who are you?” its the hat store and he found himself a rather snazy looking hat to pick on, its very comfy and wide brimmed. But there was… a a miqote, haven’t seen those in a while. Sadly the recent memory of the warrior of light has made him rather immune to new ones appearing, confusion amok. 

“Disappointed but not surprised.”

He says it more to himself than Hermenost as he eyes the hat sitting on the elzen’s head with a cocked eyebrow. Arishan doesn’t say anything about the hat, but doesn’t quite feel half as snarky knowing that he has absolutely no idea who he is. He really must remember that familiar faces aren’t always the one’s that he knows and if he keeps this up he’ll just look like an ass.

“Arishan,” he does answer his question after some hesitation and adds remembering the times he’s watched Alphinaud backpedal in a conversation before, “pray forgive me, you look just like someone I know. We parted on less than favorable circumstances.”

Arishan at first had thought he was mistaken, in a new place and a sea of faces he had thought he was seeing things as he had once before. Yet its hard to mistake the tall man for anyone else when his face has long since been haunting his nightmares since that day. Yet he looks so full of life now, whole and hardy, right as rain he could imagine some would say. The memory is still fresh and the sting still deep as it has always been. There were other worlds out there, other Haurchefant’s even and this one, this one could not be his. The threat of tears sting his eyes but he approaches with a smile and his head held as high as he can.

“Its good to see you again old friend,” otherworldly shenanigans be damned he’s greeting his friend properly, “it feels like I haven’t been to see you in months” it has been longer than that hasn’t it, “have you been well?”

His upper lip raises like he wants to bare his teeth and growl at the man, but keeps himself in check. As he currently is he wouldn’t stand a chance against him in a fight, no matter how much he ached to take him down again and make sure this time he’d never come back from it. Its a surprise to himself that his anger still held so long after the deed had been done and the king had been usurped from his godly throne. So Arishan tries to relax his stance and retain the calm neutral face he’d use on official WoL business.

“You look well for someone who’s supposed to be dead?” he quips.

just some headcanons I wanna put out there !!

Arishan doesn’t look very well read, and he’s not books and poetry go right over his head usually. His knowledge lies more towards experience gathered from his job and travels as a Warrior of Light.

He’s used to burning the midnight oil when it comes to being a healer and familiarizing himself with the tools and potions he needs for the job. Sure it costs him some sleep and he might pass out during the day but its all worth it.

Arishan loves dancing and actively gets involved in the cultures of the new areas he visits to pick up on any dances they may have to offer. Its a habit born from watching the dancers on the Ul’dahn streets and copying their movements as a very small child for fun.

He doesn’t like the snow or the cold, but he doesn’t mind the company in Ishgard and Camp Dragonhead and will actively visit the two locations to visit with his favorite people.

Arishan likes to sleep curled up with his chocobo when he can because its a very trusted companion of his that will let him know if anything is wrong.

He is a well trained Paladin as well but doesn’t enjoy the class much, but he uses it every once in a while when his friends need the extra tank for something.

Arishan is apart of the Immortal Flames.

Though he wouldn’t know it Arishan was born of the T clan and was known as T’luhta before he was abandoned.

Arishan was a name given to him by one of the dancers who took a shine to him.

His favorite festival is the Moonfaire Festival.

Arishan is a terrible cook and is much better at handling mounts and other animals.
