Persephone (Περσεφόνη), also known as Kore (Κόρη), is the Greek goddess of springtime, flowers, and vegetation. Although not an Olympian herself, she is the daughter of Demeter and Zeus. Through her abduction by and marriage to Hades, she is the Queen of the Underworld. Her Roman counterpart is Proserpina.
