'You look like you were jealous' (wild card)

&. 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐦𝐮𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬.

   Bucky's gloved fingers tapped mindlessly against the glass bottle he had been slowly sipping on for what had seemed like an eternity. ( Alcohol was useless when getting drunk was an impossibility, but it mostly served as a social crutch for the super soldier. ) He had grown accustomed to going out on his own which resulted in initial apprehension at Steve's suggestion of them going to a bar together. Of course, Bucky was willing to accept any amount of time he could spend with the other, even if he knew he was risking ancient insecurities resurfacing after what seemed to be a lifetime had passed since the last time he had experienced this particular emotion. Jealousy.

   Blue hues gazed across the bar as he watched as people seemed to gravitate toward Steve as if he were the only person in the room. With each subtle touch to Steve's arm or flirtatious comment, Bucky could feel his throat burn from the more than the alcohol he had been consuming. Deep down, he couldn't blame them for responding to the blonde haired soldier in such a manner. His kind eyes and ever present aura of confidence made it difficult for anyone to resist him. Unfortunately, the realization wasn't enough to cause the emotions coursing throughout his body to subside. He was being childish for acting this way, and he was unfortunately entirely aware of it. As much as he would like to pretend nothing ever truly got to him, it wasn't the truth. Especially when it came to his feelings toward Steve.

   Swallowing thickly, his focused returned to the bottle sitting on the bar in front of him. Then, as if Steve could feel his increasingly negative energy from across the bar, a familiar presence and voice tore Bucky's eyes away from the object he had been intensely staring at. He cleared his throat before downing the rest of his lukewarm beer. " I'm not being jealous. " Bucky defended himself, albeit not even believing himself as he heard his own unconvincing voice. " I'm just uh-... tired, is all. "

   Refraining from rolling his eyes at himself, he diverted his eyes away from Steve's. Super convincing, Bucky.
