I’m alive!

So I haven’t been on here in forever because I have nothing new to show! I moved to South Korea in Feb and as such I have no sewing machine or any supplies!  I will be making some simple things whilst I’m here (I hope) but nothing fancy. I have a few wigs on the way so I can show some testers soon :) (Also I am in Aldnoah.Zero hell as I just finished the series and the ending ripped out my heart :c)

Cinderella (2015) - Lily James as the protagonist wearing her wedding dress - a beige long-sleeve silk organza gown with a floral print. The film’s costume designer, Sandy Powell, explained the creative process behind it: “Creating the wedding dress was a challenge. Rather than try to make something even better than the ball gown, I had to do something completely different and simple,” she said. “I wanted the whole effect to be ephemeral and fine, so we went with an extreme-lined shape bodice with a long train.”

“Cinderella wins the Prince’s heart through her goodness, so I wanted to show this through her clothes, I wanted her to stay modest and pure even though she was going to be a part of royalty.”

A team of seamstresses meticulously cut, sewed, and stitched together the elegant, to-the-floor–length gown for nearly a month. Once it was assembled, the frock was given to the artists who intricately hand painted flowers onto the gown. It took 16 people and 550 hours to complete the dress.

Frozen Cosplay - Snow Set 1

Tales of Zestiria was released in Japan today! I am itching to get my hands on this game, it looks so good! To celebrate here's a mirror selfie of me and my friends cosplaying from Tales at Kitacon Invasion.  Infinitexjester is child Richard and Kirarayumi is child Asbel from Tales of Graces and I'm Zelos from Tales of Symphonia. This was the first time I cosplayed from Tales and it was awesome

       A black Raven awaits

Myself cosplaying a human/stylised verion of the chain Raven from Pandora Hearts.  I first made and wore this costume a few years ago but I decided to re-make and add bits to make it look better and I'm really pleased with the outcome.

Fabric Choice for Cosplay panel. This is just the bare bones and the examples, since I talked about and explained things in person.

(One thing I’d like to add right here though, since I was asked about it in person — I don’t go into enough detail about the difference between dupioni and shantung. Dupioni is stiffer and more crinkly [it makes a rustling noise] as well as having a more pronounced surface texture; shantung is softer and suitable for draping [where dupioni isn’t] and has a smoother surface texture.)

Nothing in this panel is definitive, and the examples given (even of the different fabric types) are just that — examples. You will encounter many, many more types of fabric than this out in the wild, but this is meant to give you a general overview so you can hopefully find your way.

It’s slightly confusing but all I could get my computer to do, so here’s how you read it: the 4-slide pictures read left to right, top to bottom. The 2-slide pictures read top to bottom. The 4-slide pictures have to be read across first. I couldn’t get that to switch in the version of Reader I’m using, so sorry for any confusion. The pdf file should read correctly, with one slide per page.
