Molly – 8-9 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Molly is a 8-9 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Poor Molly has come back to DogWatch through no fault of her own. She it so bewildered to find herself in kennels. Molly was homed a few years ago. Sadly her owner died before Christmas. Molly was then re-homed again. Traumatically for Molly this owner has also died suddenly. Molly was by her owners side when he was found.

Molly is about 8 or 9 years old. She is a calm gentle dog and she adores people. Molly would need to be the only dog in the home. Molly will make a wonderful loyal companion for somebody and this poor dog really needs to be loved.

To our knowledge Molly has never had the chance to interact with young children so for this reason she will need to be homed with adults only or a home with older children. She is a good girl and will curl up and sleep whilst you are out.

Molly cannot live with cats. She is neutered and will be vaccinated. Currently in kennels in Redditch, West Midlands.

Bianca – 3-5 year old female Collie Cross

Bianca is a 3-5 year old female Collie Cross. Bianca is a small, pretty, blonde cross Collie with a fabulous plumed tail who originally came from Bulgaria, where she was rescued as a young pup, with her sister from life beteeen busy roads. Her current owner is sadly having to give her up. This is what she has said. “She was a very nervous girl and I had to go meet her a few times to gain her trust before she finally came to live with me in October 2015.

I was told that she would bond with whoever was feeding her (Bianca is very food orientated) and sure enough, within a couple of days, she was very comfortable around me. She was still incredibly nervous around other people and, if she spotted anyone further down the road, would try and herd us all up to go home but gradually over the years, she has become so much more confident and will now stand quietly next to me if I get chatting to another person.

If you happen to have cheese, sausage or ham bits with you, she will become your bestest friend in minutes these days. She’s very good at shaking paws to get what she wants and will wait for her food until you’ve had your handshake. Once she’s happy with you, she loves to very gently jump up to give you hugs and have you snuffle her head. She is also known as Princess Bianca as she has a very regal upright sit and will look up through her lovely blonde eyelashes at you, Princess Di style.

She is crate trained and will happily sleep where you leave her or just as happily on your bed. She is a very clean girl, completely house trained and travels well in a car. Loves the beach and splashing about in the waves but best to keep her on a long line as her recall isn’t the best. I adore this girl & am devastated to have to let her go. The only reason I’m very reluctantly rehoming her is because she has seriously fallen out with another one of my bitches and their relationship is irreparable at this point. She should be fine being rehomed with a laid back male rather than another bitch”.

Bianca is living in Pembrokeshire, and you will need to travel to meet/ adopt her at the Sanctuary near Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire, once our vetting procedures are completed satisfactorily.

Charlie – 18 month old male French Bulldog cross Pug

This is Charlie a very happy and handsome 18 month old male French Bulldog cross Pug. Charlie is good with people, children and other dogs and is very friendly and affectionate. Charlie is full of beans and loves to go out on walks. He loves to meet and greet other dogs and be part of a mixture of friends he can enjoy.

Charlie has not had any basic command training except for the word “sit” which he will do for a treat. Therefore basic command training is a must and part of this is to walk nicely on his lead as he does pull quite hard and this is being worked on. Charlie is happy to be left on his own for a short while when you go shopping and he sleeps well at night. He does use a crate as he can have a tendency to chew.

Charlie is up for adoption as his previous owners had to go into rented accommodation and could not take Charlie with them. Charlie is looking for an active family home where someone is around for some of the day as he is still young. Older children would be more suitable for Charlie as he can be quite boisterous. Can be homed with another suitable resident dog.

Atomo – 2 year old male Pointer

Atomo is a 2 year old male Pointer. Lovely Atomo needs a new home urgently, he came over in January this year and has spent the last 5 months with a wonderful family. The reason why he needs to go is because the original dog in the home really doesn’t like him and has started doing resource guarding and although his adopters have worked with and still are working with a behaviourist she’s not getting any better and is visibly stressed. She can’t bear it when he goes up to Mum and butts him out of the way and sometimes goes for him so it’s stressful for him too. It’s been a very hard and very upsetting decision for them since Atomo has done nothing wrong but there is just no way round it, their original dog clearly needs to be an only dog and Atomo needs a home where he isn’t being caused to feel stressed.

The family had a really tough time since he developed Leishmaniasis after he arrived (he’d tested negative in Spain but will have been in the incubation period then) and initially the vets weren’t sure what it was and he was ill and unhappy. 2 months into his treatment he is symptom-free and full of beans, fit as a fiddle and very happy. He still needs treatment but the disease was caught quickly and although he will have Leish for life it will go into remission and his life expectancy and his quality of life will be the same as for a dog with no Leish. The treatment he needs next is injections for 1 to 2 months. We will provide full support on how to administer the injections which are already with his adopters waiting to go.

Thereafter he will need medication which is available inexpensively in the UK and 6-monthly and then annual Leishmaniasis tests. We provide full Leish support (via a very experienced Spanish vet) and this keeps the costs down and ensures he is given the right treatment. He is a very good-natured dog, he loves people, lives with 3 little girls, gets on well with other dogs, his adopter has spent lots of time working on his training and he’s doing really well, he’s very eager to learn. His recall is getting there but still some work to be done. He really enjoys doing scent work and can spend up to an hour at a time doing it without losing focus.

Diesel – 11 month old male Lurcher

Diesel is a 11 month old male Lurcher. Diesel is a stunning lad who is looking for a new home through no fault of his own. His foster mum has said he has settled wonderfully and is great with just about everything and everyone he has met so far. This lad will make a wonderful pet in the right home.

He would like new owners who are around for a good part of the day and if possible we would love another resident dog for him to play with and have a cuddle buddy of an evening, he is perfect with other dogs large and small.

Diesel is also great with cats. He is fine with children but due to his size we would like older children as he could accidentally knock over little ones. He travels well In the car and is clean and not destructive in the home. Diesel is a great pup who deserves his forever, he really is as good as he looks.

Diesel has been neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and is up to date with flea and worming treatment. He is currently being fostered in Basingstoke Hampshire.

Emily – 2 year old female Cross-Breed

Emily is a 2 year old, small- medium sized female dog. She is such a sweetheart and is very friendly. We don’t know much about her past, all we know is that most of her life was wasted in the public shelter, being brought there as a pup.

She is very friendly and loving with people, even a bit shy at first. She is cat friendly, adores other dogs and can happily live with children.

Mac – 7 year old male German Shepherd Cross

Mac is a 7 year old male German Shepherd Cross. He is a very loving, soulful dog. He mixes brilliantly with people including children. He mixes well with other dogs too but would be most suited to live as an only dog or with a female dog. He responds well to training and is eager to learn. He will be a loyal companion for someone.

Vinnie – 1 year old male British Bulldog

Vinnie is a 1 year old male British Bulldog. Sadly beautiful British Bulldog Vinnie needs a new home. This is what his owner says about him. “Vinnie has just turned a year old. It breaks my heart to rehome him but he’s not clashing with my bigger dog. and I’ve tried everything including getting both boys castrated and having behaviourists. He is unhappy being confined, and that he can’t play with his big fur brother. Unfortunately nothing is working so for his own good I have to make this heartbreaking decision”.

He needs to be an only dog, as he gets very jealous towards other dogs over food treats, toys or affection or anything. He is by no way aggressive as such but just don’t want it to get to that point. The problem is indoors, they are fine when out. He will destroy just about any toy that’s not extremely tuff and seems to know exactly how to get to squeakers in toys in seconds! He’s can be very clever but clumsy!

Vinnie is the most loving boy you can ever ever meet! He will sit there for hours on your lap and cuddle and kiss you. He’s also partial to being carried around ha ha! He’s amazing with children but maybe over the age 4 as he can be quite hyper, and like a tank with a farrari engine. But he will listen to you, and stop immediately! He’s a dream on the lead and doesn’t pull at all! He has been excellent off lead too. When out on walks he mixes well with other dogs. He travel well.

Vinnie is upto date with injections worming flea and has been castrated as I mentioned before. Vinnie is in Somerset, and you will need to travel to meet/ adopt him, once our vetting procedures are completed satisfactorily.

Rusty – 18 month old male Golden Retriever

Rusty is an 18 month old male Golden Retriever. Stunning though Rusty is he really does need a very special home. Ideally there would be just two adults in the family and it is not felt that he would be suitable to be re homed with children. It would be very helpful for Rusty to be re homed with an established, social, well mannered female dog. Hopefully the love of a good woman will put Rusty on the path to righteousness! Rusty has many super qualities. He is sociable, infinitely trainable, great fun, loves walking and does not pull on the lead. Rusty has a lot of energy and is on the go for much of the day. He is a good boy at home and can be left for sensible lengths of time.

Rusty’s new owners need to be able to demonstrate that they have past training experience and have the confidence to help Rusty with some challenging behavior. Rusty is good natured but can be very bad mannered. Ideally if someone is willing to take Rusty to obedience training or agility that would help him and we feel he could excel. This lad needs committed new owners who have the time and patience to devote to ensuring this lads future is a bright one. He has bags and bags of potential and in the right hands will make a fabulous companion.

Rusty has not lived with cats. He has been neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and is up to date with flea and worming treatment. Rusty is located near Meopham in Kent and several visits will be needed to establish a good understanding of Rusty.

D2 – 1 year old male Jack Russell Terrier

D2 is a 1 year old male Jack Russell Terrier. D2 is a very sociable dog. He likes other dogs and can live with dog savvy cats. D2 can live with children 12 years plus. He can be left for short periods.

Jara – 9 year old female Brittany Spaniel

Jara is a 9 year old female Brittany Spaniel with a wonderful affectionate nature. She loves nothing more than a cuddle. This lovely Brittany was collected from a Spanish hunter because she is now no use to him and left tied up in a field.

She is very good and sweet natured, she gets on with all people and dogs (but she can get fed up with young boisterous dogs) She is very small just weighing 9 or 10kg.

Sadly she has a heart condition, while this is not affecting her day to day life, it has meant that we are unable to spay her as yet.

Orhan – 2-3 year old male Mastiff Cross

Orhan is a 2-3 year old male Mastiff Cross. This “Care Bear” is willing to find a home where he can forget so many days and nights being trapped inside a kennel in the pound. We know that this is not an easy one, usually people want small or medium dogs, but we also know that those adopters that prefer large sized dogs have a predilection for this type of breed.

Orhán is spectacular, original, and catches your attention when you have him in front of you, but further to his beauty he is an extraordinarily noble, affective and social dog, both with other dogs and people. HE HAS NOT BEEN TESTED WITH CATS.

Orhán is ready to leave behind the bad life that he had until know, without any trauma, to join a family that welcomes him with open arms. He is currently in Spain but read to travel to UK as soon as he finds his forever home.

Sweetie – 8 year old female Lurcher

Sweetie is an 8 year old female Lurcher. Sweetie by name, Sweetie by nature! This lovely girl is so gentle, kind and loving, she can be quite timid at times but is desperately seeking reassurance from humans. A quiet, calm adult home would be best where she can be given lots of love and TLC, perhaps a home with a calm and gentle resident canine to help build Sweeties confidence.

Flora – 8 year old female Labrador Retriever

Flora is an 8 year old female Labrador Retriever. Flora is fabulous-she needs company, lots of love and long walks where it’s safe to be off lead and run free as she has lots of energy. Flora can pull on the lead but is responding to training after being at doggie school.

Flora is good with other dogs but prefers human company-somewhere where she can receive lots of love and attention would be perfect, she is a very special girl! Flora can be left on her own for a few hours without any problems. FLORA is in the care of HEREFORD AND WORCESTER ANIMAL RESCUE.
