When Eren cleans, he likes singing to himself. Sometimes, he doesn’t notice that he’s doing it until someone points it out to him. That someone can be either Mikasa who likes to join in with him, a soft smile on her face, or Jean telling Eren to shut up already so that he can clean in silence and finish sooner (though they never actually finish the job any faster).

Today is no exception for Eren’s small habit, words falling softly from his lips as he sweeps . A hint of a smile graces his face, images of his mother flooding his mind as he remembers her beautiful voice filling the house while she washed the dishes and Eren dried them; it was the only way to have him help with anything around the house. 

Eren is so entranced in his thoughts that he doesn’t notice the other person in the room  until he turns around. He starts at the sight of his captain standing in the doorway, an unusually somber look in his eyes and his lips are pressed into a thin line, looking even more somber than usual.

“Levi?” He only says the man’s name because they’re alone, an intimate right that Eren has earned and deeply treasures. “Is everything all right?”

Levi avoids the question by asking his own, “That song you were singing, where did you learn it?”

Eren blinks, taken aback by the question. “Oh, uh, my mother used to sing it whenever she was cleaning the house and I would join her. I still sing it so it’s an old habit.” An awkward chuckle leaves Eren’s mouth, “Was it bothering you—”

“Would you continue singing it?” Levi asks, voice uncharacteristically strained. 

A moment of silence passes before Eren nods and he goes back to sweeping, his voice coming out a little louder for Levi to hear from where he leans against the door frame, arms crossed over his chest. When Eren looks back over, Levi’s eyes have fallen closed and there’s a slight crease between his eyebrows. 

Eren strides over and leans the broom against the wall, reaching out to gently place his hand on Levi’s arm. The captain’s eyes snap open and he looks like he’s about to say something, but the soft look in Eren’s bright eyes keep the words lodged in his throat. 

He doesn’t protest, allowing Eren to pull him into a hug. After a moment of hesitation his arms wrap around Eren’s waist. They stand in a shared silence, the comfortable embrace easing the tug of distant memories.

“My mother used to sing that song to me when I was young, to help me fall asleep at night,” Levi murmurs against Eren’s shoulder. “It’s been years since I’ve heard it.”

“Well I hope I brought it some justice,” Eren can’t help but joke lightly, pulling away enough to give the man a crooked smile. “I’m not exactly the best singer out there.”

The older man snorts, rolling his eyes, a ghost of a smile on his face. “No, no, it’s perfect.”

As Levi pushed his way through the throngs of people filling the street, all too busy gawking up at the tacky lights over their heads to pay attention to where they walked or what they did with the bulky shopping bags they all seemed to be carrying, he thought longingly of his quiet, warm living room, his comfortable couch, the new book he’d picked up that morning. He wondered, most definitely not for the first time that evening, what in hell he was doing here.

And then the crowd in front of him parted, and he saw his reason.

Eren Jeager had tumbled into Levi’s life a little more than a year ago, when he’d gotten a job at the café attached to the museum where Levi worked. Levi had taken one good, hard look, and then spent the next few months doing his best to pretend he hadn’t fallen instantly in lust.

It hadn’t worked. In fact, it had worked so badly that Eren had been living with him for almost three weeks now.

TO MY SECRET LEVI, @ackermission!!! Happy holidays and Happy New Year’s! I hope you enjoy your gift, Aqua. It was a joy to make and it was even more of a joy to make it for you :) 

This little idea of mine came along with a tiny idea that’s lived in my head for a while. The premise is simple: Eren and Levi have to spend the holidays in their bedroom where the fireplace is because the heat isn’t working in their house. 

“I told you this beanbag was a good purchase,” Eren said, grin wide. 

“Please,” Levi said with a roll of his eyes, though he couldn’t stop the soft smile from gracing his face. “The only reason we’re here is because the heat stopped working.” 

“The heater that you broke.”

They were sitting on the railing by the lonely tram station when the sun sank down behind the trees, her disappearance leaving a lovely blush on the evening sky’s patchy, warm skin. 

Eren glanced over at Levi’s profile and he could not be more in love. 

It still seemed so unreal, too good to grasp.

Spending the time waiting on Mikasa to come pick Eren up was not as bad as he thought it would be, although they sat in silence. 

And to be frank, neither of them minded that the younger man’s sister took so long. 

They could spend all evening or night together, just enjoying each other’s presence while their hearts raced in excitement over this newfound closeness.

What were the days of the week?

A week started with Monday. Monday meant waking up with sore thighs and swollen lips, their naked bodies flushed together. Eren’s hair hiding his lazy grin. Levi’s neck covered with marks of his love. The sheets tangled between their legs. When Eren tried to get up, he’d fall smack on the floor.

Christa would already be awake, a pout on her face and a brush in her hands. She’d hand it to Eren, who braided her hair and secured it with her favorite blue ribbon. She liked to sit on the counter and dangle her little legs, helping Levi pour syrup on their pancakes. After a goodbye kiss, Levi would be off to take her to school, while Eren left for the hospital.

Tuesday was a little less lazy and demanded work. Christa with her books. Levi with the hundred papers of a Math test, cursing every student who had taken it. Eren watching over the interns while he operated on the patient. He was always the last to return home.

Wednesday meant some fun. Eren and Christa wrestling over the chocolate. Levi busting in on their hidden stash and confiscating it all. The two begging Levi with their big, sad eyes. He had no choice but to relent. Later, he got to kiss Eren’s chocolate-coated tongue.

He got to feel Eren’s chocolate-coated tongue on his skin as they hid in the closet, a few minutes late for work.

Thursday brought with it some challenges: Levi and his bad temper fighting Christa’s stubborn chin. Christa shrieking and storming off to her room. Levi waiting up all night, worried for his husband. Eren returning home, face painted with grief and seeking Levi’s comfort after a failed surgery.

Like the lamp that kept the darkness at bay, Levi was there. He parted a kiss on Eren’s forehead, pairing it with soft words. Eren washed Levi’s hair with kisses of his own, calming the raging storm within. They talked about Christa. He was always the better parent.

But Levi tried too. And he had Eren, sweet Eren, to help him walk those tough roads.

Promises were made and old bonds were sewn together. On Friday, Eren returned late, tired but happy. Levi’s students were making progress. Christa’s third tooth fell and Levi was there to hold her and soothe her cries. Eren sneaked some chocolates under her pillow that night, in exchange for the tooth.

They stayed up late, relishing the warmth of the other’s body with tender bites and kisses. Then, Eren tucked him to bed.

New adventures waited for them on Saturday. Eren had to go to the hospital, but he’d be home early. They’d go out somewhere or stay in, learning something new. Knitting a sweater meant Eren and Christa being tangled in the yarn together. Gardening meant trying to dump fertilizer on Levi. Baking meant Levi and Christa throwing cookie dough at each other. Bath time was at night, with Christa surrounded by pink bubbles. Eren sprayed them both with water. Levi knocked him into the tub, where he and their daughter tried to drown him.

Sunday was for time alone. Christa would be at a friend��s house, her grandparents, or with her cousin Ann. Christa and Ann were absolute demons and Sunday meant torture for uncle Zeke.

Back at home,

The pillows were strewn about. The sheets were on the floor. Levi, hot and panting, whimpered for his husband’s touch. His skin was ablaze while Eren ravished him, kissed him, bit him, loved him. Or it would be Eren spread on the bed, gasping and glowing, his honey skin embellished with purple, red and blue dots. Their sweaty, sticky bodies sliding together, their lips singing together. Both crying out as they came, falling into each other’s embrace. The room saturated with the scent of their flaming love. Eren’s green eyes burning, Levi’s grey ones glowing. Silent, but speaking a thousand words.

Christa would be home by night, rambling non-stop about how she and Ann shaved half of uncle Zeke’s beard. While Eren made dinner, Levi would serve it. They’d tuck her to bed and retire to their rooms for another round of lovemaking or simple, sweet sleep.

And then the days of the week would follow, with it bringing stories anew.

Wholesome Week Rules, Guidelines and the WINNING PROMPTS below!

Hello everyone, I would like to start with some guidelines.

•“Wholesome” does not mean no conflict.

•“Wholesome” does not mean only fluff. 

•“Wholesome” can be smut.

• “Wholesome” isn’t really calling someone a ‘little shit’ or a ‘shitty brat’. So, no degrading language, please. (Example: slut/slutty, bitch, bastard)

• You don’t have to do all of the prompts if you don’t want to

• You don’t have to do them in order

• Late submissions are welcome

Wholesome in our context just means “stories, arts, graphics and media where our two leading men love each other, don’t hurt the other intentionally, and just treat each other well and with love and adoration.”

Keep the resolutions happy and sweet. We want the bois to be happy. We want to showcase some good, healthy dynamics. No relationship is perfect. Communication can suck, but working together and having each other’s backs? That’s some good and wholesome content. Supporting your lover even if they can be a hot mess sometimes? That’s the good stuff. Levi and Eren can argue and be upset with each other but it gets resolved and yay! Happy day! 

Angst for angst’s sake? Please, keep it light. Conflict doesn’t have to mean angst. And angst doesn’t have to be your conflict. Everyone can feel that dread and anxiety but it doesn’t have to be everything. Sometimes a hug goes a long way. And remember, happy day at the end.

But please, keep it to non-violent conflict between the boys. Again, neither one of them should be purposely hitting or hurting each other. We wanna keep this light and sweet and positive.

If you want to go all fluff and puff? Do it. Enjoy yourself. 

Wholesome Smut? Sex is beautiful and an expression of love. So, yes, your smut can be ‘wholesome’! Two peens loving each other’s brains out with adoration and fluffy respect? Totally possible.

That being said, please keep to the more vanilla side of sex for this event. Do Levi or Eren nip and bite each other? Okay. Are we drawing blood? Not okay. Can vampires be wholesome? Yes. Just keep it as non-violent as possible. Are there hickeys and little hip bruises left over in that “Afterglow”? Okay. 

Are we slapping, hitting, or demeaning someone? Not today.

MY PROMPT DIDN’T WIN:

Have you considered… incorporating it into a prompt that did make it to the final seven? I’m rooting for grey hair. So hard. I want this so bad. You have NO idea. Let’s say it doesn’t win. But ‘Body Worship’ does. Who is to say you can’t lavish and get some good loving on your greyed out lover? Love is supposed to be for life, right? I could incorporate ‘grey hair’ into that while keeping “Body Worship” the main focus.

In fact, the prompts are meant to inspire. It doesn’t have to be 100% what your story is. Make it your own, make it unique.

Do a loosely related string of vignettes. Do a short, multi-chapter fic while incorporating a prompt into each chapter. Do one shots. Do singular pieces of art or graphics. Are you a drabble expert! Amazing. Wanna sing a song? Awesome! A short radio play! Dang, you are inventive, you sweet and beautiful human being you!
