I'd like to add to this!

Can pass off any habit due to pain/illness as being quirky because they were brought outside and punished if they made people suspicious

Alternatively, just selectively mute now because they were always punished for speaking

Doesn't whimper or scream from pain anymore and/or tries to fix/bandage any wound they have themselves due to Whumper never giving them aid and punishing them for reactions

Pushes themselves even in illness/injury, making them a nightmare to try and put on bed rest

Alternatively, if they were taken/kept so long that they lost touch with how people speak (even more likely if they only talked with other whumpees and whumper), so they ask/bring up topics like torture or gore completely normlly

Are they conditioned? Maybe they proudly show off scars they gained and keep track of who gives them what, to show how useful they are

Maybe caretaker knew whumpee before, but due to conditioning, their personality changed (more stoic or childlike or defensive maybe) ...how does caretaker feel about it? What does whumpee do when reminded of their old life– do they remember? Do they hate it?

Fun quirks to give your whumpee:

Never sleeps/lies on their back: a habit they developed when the scars on their back were healing. This could also apply to leaning on the backrest of a chair. Instead they sit bolt upright or slouch over the table.

Holds anything fragile like a glass or a plate with both hands at all times because their grip is no longer strong enough to hold it with just one.

Their pyjamas look like day clothes so they can pretend they're functional when they don't have the energy/motivation/mobility to get dressed.

They have no mirrors in their house because they've changed so much since being with Whumper that they don't recognise themself anymore, and they can't stand being reminded of it.

Alternatively, they have mirrors everywhere so they can always see over their shoulder for any potential threat.

Kansas is becoming worse and with local law enforcement knowing that I'm trans (as do the courts since I attended court in gender-appropriate attire), it's only a matter of time before that happens. I don't think I need to spell it out.

Also, like... living weapon just dissociates and regresses back into their weapon state completely? Like the majority or all of their questions are before, but having to watch the tapes just kinda puts them back into that headspace– they don't listen to their name for the rest of the trial and only pay attention when ordered to while using their designation, further horrifying everyone? I LOVE THIS SCENARIO SO MUCH

So like... a living weapon on trial. The weapon is no where near healed not at all, hasn't done anything for their self since they were rescued. And weapon facing trial for the acts they committed. The most crucial piece of evidence of why weapon shouldn't be punished are the tapes of their training. When the tapes are being shown, weapon shocks everyone and begins crying.

OR

weapon has barely asked for anything, only things they really need. So when they are on trial, they ask to not be in the room when the tapes are played. When weapon comes back in, their stomach curls at the pitying faces surrounding them. Some people are even crying.

I'm not expecting this to really get any engagement, but... I recently found out we had SEVERE untreated asthma, not just mild (we had to blow into a Hydrogen Breath Test machine a BUNCH of times before they even got any results, so we almost couldn't complete a LACTOSE TEST), our mother just conveniently decided we'll outgrow it– it's been getting worse and worse and we still have to BEG both of our parents for them to take it seriously...

Told all this (and some more things) to our childhood best friend and he first asked if he can get her jailed (to which I insisted our younger sister still lives with her and she treats her better so no) and then he told me it's horrifying that it is just LUCK that we're still alive (still have no rescue inhaler, just prescribed control meds that barely help) asked how we're still alive, and all I could say was "...honestly? No idea."

Moral/Spiritual OCD, as a suggestion– all Whumper has to do is suggest that Whumpee's deity/deities of worship won't forgive them for being unable to do proper worship or Whumpee they let everyone down by "being so easy to capture" to cause them hour long mental breakdowns!

Please be aware some of these might actually be triggering for OCD-havers, I would know.

Basically any kind of contamination OCD is gonna be hell for most whump scenarios

In a dingy dungeon? Check. In another person's home? Check.

Basically any place short of a surgical suite or an environment Whumpee can't be in control of

Imagine Whumpee being restrained and unable to carry out their compulsions

They haven't been able to bathe for WEEKS

They can feel the dirt on their skin, in their pores, dried sweat they couldn't wash off, old blood caked on their clothes, etc

Developing new compulsions like running their tongue along their teeth because they can FEEL how badly the plaque buildup is wrecking havoc

Infected wounds because they weren't properly cared for while Whumpee had to sit and watch this happen despite wanting to do anything to remedy it

When they're finally rescued and can shower again, scrubbing themselves too vigorously and causing more damage

Ruminating OCD with any kind of solitude, darkness, in the aftermath of embarrassment, etc

Having to sit with those spiraling thoughts and having no outside stimuli to stop them

Month 1 - Week 3 - Day 2: “You’re a weapon, aren’t you? So fire.”

TW: Gun, Conditioned Whumpee, Living Weapon Whumpee, Death

Whumpee took a deep breath and adjusted their stance. Their hand suddenly felt warm and their grip on the gun felt loose. 

This never felt as intimidating while training with Whumper. It was almost fun in a way… Or maybe Whumpee had finally been fully conditioned. They couldn’t tell. They couldn’t really remember everything. Just the best parts. 

They were treated better than the others. They got more food, a more comfortable place to sleep. 

No, Whumpee imagined that. Weapons don’t get sleep. Or did they? 

That’s what it was. 

They imagined everything. 

Then why couldn’t they just pretend this was just like training? Why couldn’t they just do what they were told? Why couldn’t they just pull the trigger like every other training session they had? 

Except, they couldn’t. 

This wasn’t just one of those moving targets they practiced with. This was a living person. One of the many prisoners that Whumper kept locked away. It… They had eyes. They could breathe. They could feel emotions. They had fear in the flinching irises that stared back at Whumpee with each shaking inhale. And Whumpee had to pull the trigger. 

“Whumpee, I asked you a question.” 

They flinched upon hearing deep his voice. They did not know Whumper was speaking to them. “Sir?” 

He stalked over, planting himself right behind Whumpee. “What is the problem?” 

For the first time, Whumpee felt a chill. “Nothing, Sir.” 

“Then why haven’t you done what I asked?” Quickly, they looked for a response, only to come up short. They weren’t going to tell him the truth. “You’re a weapon, aren’t you?” 

Taking a deep breath, their grip tightened as they nodded. “Yes Sir.” His next words were low, only for their ears to hear. 

“So fire.” 

Without a second thought, Whumpee pulled the trigger.
