Skk over here having inside jokes and insult competitions and nicknames and being visibly distressed when the other is in trouble and picking up their partnership like nothings changed PLEASE. They are silly and goofy and childish and low key wholesome Do you understand? I do not usually make posts like this but recently I have seen a lot of content on Instagram, Twitter and I think tiktok too misunderstanding the meaning of intrusive thoughts, which may cause people experiencing them to be upset.
I have tried to shortly explain the difference of impulsive and intrusive and hope it will help people to understand and use the words correctly.

#THIS.#and i just want to add#it is so SO important to know the difference and teach it so we can fic this misconception#because when i was seventeen and brought to therapy for the first time#i didnt know how to talk about my intrusive thoughts without looking like a psychopath or a pervert#every time you refer to your impuksive thoughts as intrusive thoughts you're endorsing the idea that intrusive thoughts are#quirky little thoughts or some surpassed desires or whatever#and you have no idea how much that harms kids with actual ocd who experience intrusive thoughts and dont know how to talk about them#intrusive thoughts are 'what if i fucked my cat'#intrusive thoughts are 'am i secretly gay and lying to everyone i know while sexualising them in my mind'#intrusive thoughts are 'what if i slammed my friend's head into the wall right now'#'why the fuck did i smile at that kid? am i a pedophile?'#'what if i jumped in front of that car'#'what if someone raoed me and i liked it? am i a pervert? am i a bad person? do i like harming people?'#and 'if not then why the fuck do i always think about this stuff??'#intrusive thoughts are INTRUSIVE.
