because ever since i put that manga down i MISS him. i miss thinking about what he's thinking about. i miss trying to understand his little weirdo brain. he was such a drama queen about the most basic ethical questions and he was kinda onto something because like what even is morality and why shouldn't he care about his collage degree just because some terrorist was obsessed with him for a while? why should the plot change him? why would he need to be affected? like as an author i hate the fact that i kinda love everything they did with him because someone who had almost no growth in their sense of life and worth has no business being peak character writing BUT HE IS. it's like the fact that he circles back to where he started IS the character growth. and not even in a "he's back to the exact same point but he's a changed person" type of way— he's not. he didn't change himself and he didnt change the world he didnt really do anything and somehow that's the point
