Exactly! Honestly, himbo!Din reminds me a lot of how people characterized early Thor in the MCU fandom. He was a CAPS LOCK EATING POPTARTS DUDEBRO instead of the complicated character Thor actually is.
If you want to write himbo!Din who does no wrong, go ahead. But remember that the Dark!Din exploration of the character is just as valid as yours.
Din Djarin is not a cinnamon roll or a sociopath
So, the how new thing to complain about is people writing Dark!Din. I've seen people saying that Din is some kind of gentle, innocent uWu who would do no wrong.
I'd like to ask what show you've been watching? Canonically Din is pretty morally grey. He is a bounty hunter who has killed unarmed and fleeing people on screen (he disintegrated those Jawas in episode 2). He worked with the Empire because they would pay him. He helped a group of violent criminals break another criminal out of prison. The only reason he helps most of the people he helps is because they can give him something in return (including the village in episode 4). He isn't a pure paragon of goodness.
But he obviously isn't evil either. He has his own belief system that most of you would find shady in real life (like honestly, look up how fucked up bounty hunting is).
Also, the furor against Dark!Din is quite funny considering that fans were complaining about people woobifying (or himbofying) Din like two weeks ago.
Also, if this is your first time in fandom, you may not know about people creating evil versions of their favorite characters. It isn't uncommon. Dark!Steve Rogers, Dark!Geralt, Dark!Tony Stark, Dark!Dean Winchester are all fairly popular. Sometimes people want to see their favorite good characters do a bit of serial killing.

You Don't Own Characters, Fandoms, or Pairings
It seems that some people in this ship don't really understand how fandom works. Just because a certain character or pairing is your "comfort _______" doesn't mean you can dictate what other people do with that character/pairing. If someone wants to write your favorite character murdering a whole village, your response should be not to read that fic. That's it. You don't get to tell someone "not to ruin your character". They are not yours.
It is also your responsibility to protect yourself from certain themes you don't like or triggers you may have. If you ignore tags, that is on you. If the author doesn't tag something (though all the Dark!Din fics I've seen have been tagged), then just block them so you know next time.

Let’s see!
wanda maximoff: watched her parents die from a bomb created by stark industries
tony stark: watched his parents get brutally murdered by a man standing 10 feet away from him
wanda maximoff: is pardoned for wanting revenge against tony stark for what he did
tony stark: is a villain for wanting revenge against bucky for what he did
Wanda was a child who was stuck in a bath tub where she could see her family’s corpses. She was then manipulated by adults. She was able to break free of this brainwashing to do good. She realized Stark was not the enemy and stopped trying to hurt him.
Tony Stark is a grown ass man who continuously attacked an innocent man. Bucky DID NOT kill his parents. No more than you can say a gun killed someone. Hydra used Bucky as a weapon. Tony knew this. But Tony still tried to kill a FLEEING man. You know, it isn’t good when cops do it either. Maybe Tony Stark feared for his life from the man who was literally not trying to hurt him.
t’challa: watched his father die by a framed bucky barnes
tony stark: watched his mother die by bucky barnes
t’challa: gets to spend the entire film genuinely trying to kill bucky for revenge
tony stark: is a villain for BLATANTLY holding back in a fight due to his reaction to watching the most disturbing and fucked up thing in his life
Same as above. T’Challa eventually realized he was wrong and stops. Tony Stark literally blows off Bucky’s arm. Oh, he also kicks a nearly unconscious Bucky in the head. So we have Tony repeatedly attacking someone he knew was innocent. Had Steve not been there, Tony would have KILLED Bucky.
bucky barnes: mentally manipulated into doing tasks against his will
tony stark: mentally manipulated into doing self-destructive tasks
bucky barnes: is [rightfully] pardoned for years of being a deadly assassin
tony stark: is a villain for creating something to protect earth that eventually backfired
Ummmm. Did you watch the movies? Bucky was going to be sent to the Raft. An innocent man was going to be sent to a hidden prison without going to trial (you know, like they did with Clint/Sam/Wanda). Uh, when did Tony go to prison for creating Ultron. I guess I am still waiting on that scene.
Also, Bucky was literally brain washed. Tony was creating Ultron before Wanda was around. But sure, they are totally the same.
natasha romanova and wanda maximoff: both willingly worked for the bad guys
tony stark: was unaware that his partner and friend had been selling his weapons to the bad guys
natasha romanova and wanda maximoff: get pardoned for the blood on their hands when they join shield/the avengers
tony stark: is a villain for the weapons that obadiah sold to the bad guys despite immediately getting upset about it and confronting him about it
Again, where did Tony go to prison for these things? Natasha and Wanda were both manipulated by people they thought were doing the right thing. They are atoning for those sins.
Also, Tony Stark created weapons that probably killed thousands of people. But I guess you are cool with that because they were used by American armies to kill brown people. He created a cheaper atom bomb. Tony Stark was a warmonger. He has changed, but don’t pretend he didn’t know what he was doing.
steve rogers: throws an entire trailer at peter without knowing if he has super strength
tony stark: says that they need to hold wanda accountable for her mistakes
steve rogers: gets praised for saying she’s “just a kid” in defending her horrendous mistakes despite her age and the destruction she caused before
tony stark: is a villain for bringing peter to “web them up” and making peter leave the battle the moment he gets hurt
Again, did you watch the movie? Peter was doing super strong, acrobatics before Steve dropped the trailer on him. Also, he didn’t know he was a minor.
Tony was holding Wanda hostage. You can’t lock an adult inside their house for ‘their own safety’. Learn some fucking laws.
No, Tony Stark is a villain for lying and kidnapping a minor. That is what he did. He LIED to Peter and then took him across the world without permission from his guardian. That is KIDNAPPING. Also, Peter didn’t sign the Accords, so he was also operating outside of them. I guess Tony only cares about the Accords sometimes?
wanda maximoff: never has to own up to working for hydra, manipulating every member of the avengers, or triggering the hulk into destroying a civilian city under her control, joining alongside ultron until she does one good thing, essentially being the cause of all the death and destruction in aou, and eventually not being able to control her powers in lagos that she previously had total control over, which resulted in deaths upon deaths, and also gets to watch the hulk take all the burn and blame for the city she made him destroy
tony stark: literally is held accountable for every single action made by himself along with maximoff and every other avenger, tries his hardest to work alongside ross and 117 countries that all demand superhero registration through the accords as voted for in the UN, despite knowing how much a lot of his team would reject such idea
wanda maximoff: is just a 26 year old kid!
tony stark: is a villain for trying to find a middle ground between selfish team members who refused to be held accountable for being dangerous people and the 117 countries around the world that want them to be held accountable since they’re all powerful & dangerous people (a lot of which have bad histories, see: wanda) who shouldnt be allowed to just freely use their powers when they clearly pose to be a potential threat to the public
Tony created Ultron, so I think he should share ohhhhhhhh 50% of that blame at least so lets ignore that one. Wanda had control of her powers in Lagos. She just wasn’t able to get the bomb away from the building. Question, did you see where she moved the bomb from? It was a crowded marketplace. I guess she should have let those people die instead, right?
Yeah. Tony decided to work alongside Ross. That is how you know you are in the wrong. That is also why Bruce and Thor were not in this movie. Neither of them would have EVER sided with Tony.
The Accords would have stripped people of their rights because they have powers. Are you okay with the government telling black people they can’t do certain things because of something they are born with? How about Muslims?

everyone else: gets to do shit
tony stark: is a villain for doing similar shit while also being the only one who fucking cares
