Fellow Christians, listen to me:
Let us really, truly hope and pray that that Project 2025 is just fear mongering. Because (and I hope I look silly in the coming years, I really do) if even a fraction of what it threatens is genuinely on Trump's agenda, then the name of Christ is about to be blasphemed horribly by people in our government who claim to serve Him.
If and (hopefully not) when that happens, the Church MUST step up and be the hands and feet of Jesus. We MUST show the true face of God to the world. We MUST choose to serve our neighbors over flag or party or human leader. We MUST put the teachings of Jesus over political power. We MUST be willing and ready to side with people we disagree with, for the sake of their human rights.
I don't care who you voted for or why. Yesterday is past, I'm talking about today and tomorrow.
If Project 2025 is nonsense, then praise God!
But, if even a fraction of Project 2025 is true, promise me that you will choose to be CHRIST followers, rather than Trump followers. Promise me that you will choose justice and mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Imagine the fellowship showing each other pictures and paintings of themselves as children
Everyone cooes over Gimli with the tiniest little beard and mini axe, the Hobbits all sleeping in a little pile of curls and tails, Aragorn in formal elven clothing but his hair is still as messy cause they couldn’t style it even if they tried, Boromir holding a baby Faramir cause he refused to part with him after he was born
And then Legolas shows the ugliest fucking thing any of them had ever seen, looking like a fleshy newborn bird with enormous eyes and ears, and he’s proudly boasting over how he’s seen as one of them most beautiful elven infants in millennium, and the rest of them are afraid to say anything because What The Fuck

So Sméagol wanted the Ring to be given to him as a birthday present, right? He wanted to receive it as a gift and killed Déagol when he refused.
400-something years later, it's common hobbit custom to give gifts on one's birthday instead of receiving them. Bilbo gets special mathoms for his 111th birthday party to give away.
Does this mean an old legend of a murder over a birthday gift lead to this massive cultural shift?? I can't find solid evidence that it's directly related but I mean... Hobbits are known gossipers and a rare murder would be very well-publicized. And it seems in-character for them to avoid the possibility of further birthday gift violence with such a strange, neat little solution of flipping the expectation around.

I had a conversation with a “Christian” and it went rather horribly. They called immigrants “shits” and terrorists. All immigrants. They claimed immigrants were the reason for Christian persecution, and that God wants us to lift the sword and kill those who persecute us. They proudly boasted of how much they loved God while in the same breath wanting to kill in His name. The lack of love and compassion was unnerving to say the least.
Friends, please remember that those who live by the sword shall die by it. Not once when the apostles faced persecution did they slaughter their persecutors. Rather, they went to their deaths proudly bearing the name of Christ- and this caused MANY more to be saved in His holy name. When the world sees you act in violence, they only see worldlings ready to kill in the name of Jesus. But when they see us love our enemies, pray for our persecutors, and stand unafraid of who can take this life from us- that is what makes people of the world come to Christ.
If your answer to persecution is to return violence for violence, you are standing against Christ, not with Him. Those who seek to save their lives here will lose them. But those who lose their lives for the sake of the gospel shall gain them.

lotr but nobody knows anything about the other races
Pippin thinks Legolas is a woman
Boromir is convinced that the hobbits are all 15 max
Everyone thinks that Merry and Pippin are twins, except for Legolas, who is convinced the hobbits are quadruplets
Sam thinks that Aragorn, Boromir and Legolas don't have to eat to survive
Legolas doesn't mention things he sees or hears because he thinks the others have noticed them too and just assumes they have a plan
Pippin complains that he is hungry and Legolas just gives him a handful of grass. Pippin is so confused that he just takes it, and now Legolas tries to figure out what hobbits can eat by just giving them random shit, like
Things the hobbits have accepted and likely eaten later (a list by legolas)
-Grass - Leaves
-Stones - a hair tie
-A feather - one of Gimli's shoes
The hobbits and Gimli just assume that this is what elves eat

I feel a lot of anger at but honestly a lot of pity for bigoted and hateful Christian’s too. I’m sorry they have been so brainwashed and blinded they cannot see their biggest commandment is to love and I want them to be free of that one day.

Every time I have ever found God it has been from a group of outsiders.
Every picture of God that has ever looks like him has been made by people who never saw a Jesus that looked like themselves
I have never felt more at home than when listening to a gay person talk about God. I have never understood someone better than the lesbian Catholics who love to veil, or the transgender episcoples who see their transition as an opportunity to share in God's creation, or anyone who found God and then carved their own way to him.
When I sit in chapel, and the worship music feels like noise, I know there is a hymn being sung with a shaking voice that sounds just like Christ calling out for his father. When I see lessons written in script, I know there are sheets of construction paper printed in stock fonts on a family's kitchen table sent home from Sunday school teaching the same. When I get a hand out with Bible verses bought from Amazon, I know that someone has written the same verse in craft glue and collage and their blood.
I think God is present the most when the process of finding him is distinctly human; because I think he knows us, and makes the way he finds us human.

You don’t have to be afraid of God. The true God, Jesus Christ, is the most loving and tender. He is not like the judgmental, hateful Christians you’ve encountered. Please, give Him a chance. He is everything good you’ve ever wanted. When you learn what you mean to Him, you will find a peace beyond this world. He loves you more than anyone or anything ever could.

I think the reason so many LOTR ripoffs fail is because they make their Aragorn analogue the main character, when the entire point of Aragorn is that he’s “the person the villains think is the main character, but is Not.”
Aragorn seems like a traditional King Arthur style hero— he has huge Main Character Energy because he’s supported by destiny, by bloodline, by all these magic artifacts and prophecies, and etc etc. Frodo and Sam are Just Some Guys. Aragorn recognizes that Sauron understandably thinks he’s the main hero of this story ….and he pretends to believe it too, spending the entire series using himself as a diversion to prevent Sauron from seeing Frodo and Sam.
Aragorn’s whole thing is that knows he seems like the Main Hero of this legend to people who don’t know better —- but he also knows that he isn’t, and that his role is just to keep Sauron’s eye on him in order to protect the people around him.
And it works! Sauron is so fixated on defeating his Legendary Destined Archenemy with Extreme Main Character Energy that he completely overlooks the two ordinary little guys who were the real threat to him all along.

Even IF you believe that being queer or trans is a sin (which is a really weird way to interact with God's creation and another human being) you still are expected as a Christian to behave with love and respect for fellow sinners. Is that not what we were taught?
