after their sixth year, remus lupin starts to notice the nuances and mechanics of his relationship with sirius black

they were close friends, of course, and treated one another as such, but as more of their friends and acquaintances began to pair off and fall in love, remus noticed that they may be acting more along the lines of james and lily potter, and not james potter and peter pettigrew

whilst finally being graced with nights off of worry and war-planning, sirius and remus often mirrored james and lily

they walked hand in hand, often not realising they were doing so, remus put it down to seeking heat in the biting cold of an english december. sirius would rest his hand on remus’ shoulder even as they walked, a lazy grin on his face as remus spoke

after order meetings, couples would leave to their homes together, ready to cosy up in a shared bed and pretend that they had no risk in their lives, they seemed like frank and alice in these times

frank would encircle alice’s waist with his arm, his hand lightly gripping her hip to keep his tired partner steady as she walked with him. remus would also leave order meetings with a tired and dizzyingly adorable-when-tired person on his arm, someone who he would lay to bed at night and ensure they were asleep before he himself was settled

on nights that remus and sirius stayed at home, they would often find a good muggle record to play as they went about their lives. this was when casual domesticity came into their lives

sirius would hum along with whatever was playing at the time, usually queen or bowie or a niche disco artist who’s record sirius snatched up at a charity shop, often as he did mundane acts such as washing the dishes or drying his hair. in these moments remus found himself staring at sirius, he watched as his eyes relaxed, as his whole body relaxed

some nights things got difficult, there were stories of attacks, raids, murders. everyone giving comfort to their friends and partners. on nights like this remus held sirius close

the two would lay, curled up on the couch with the news playing in the background, static occasionally overlapping the newsreaders voice. sirius laid his head onto remus’ chest, remus’ hand moving through his friends hair, ignoring the shaky breaths his friend was taking. they both knew they could cry like this around one another, there was no need for checking if the other was okay verbally when they already knew the answer

remus noticed a million things about him and sirius’ relationship, but he kept it to himself. he kept it from sirius, from james, from lily, peter, frank

these memories were his and his alone

the man he loved killed their best friends, but he was the man who held his hand late at night

the man he loved was framed, but he was the man who needed to be held when he cried

the man he loved died, but he was the man who lived for his friends

the man he loved flashed through his head as he died, but he was the man he’d be reunited with

Jesus, I don’t understand how anyone could think Remus isn’t in Ravenclaw. It’s just seems like the obvious fit to me.

Remus is eccentric. His ideas are a bit more disturbing than Luna Lovegood’s, but they’re definitely creative and unique.

Remus has done his research. His little tangent about Jeffrey Dahmer? Clearly he values having accurate information in a debate. He values learning, which is basically the core Ravenclaw value.

Remus speaks his mind. He doesn’t withhold anything from Thomas. Ravenclaws have proven to be honest and blunt; Remus is clearly both of these things.

Remus has wisdom and wit. No, really! He comes up with jokes on the fly, just like Roman. And the thing is, they’re actually funny. He’s witty. And he’s wise; he advises Thomas not to repress intrusive thoughts at least twice in the Intrusive Thoughts video.

Whether Remus is “intelligent” is yet to be seen. While Logan may be the stereotypical Ravenclaw, Remus is no less creative and individualistic. Remus is a Ravenclaw!

Favorite lunarry headcanons?

their relationship develops slowly - they grow closer as friends after the Battle of Hogwarts and stay in touch via letters while Luna’s studying and then travelling and Harry’s training to be an Auror, but it’s not until Luna gets back when they’re in their mid-twenties that they realise they have romantic feelings for one another and start dating

people don’t always understand them as a couple until they see them together; they communicate a lot in silent looks and touches, and it’s only once people witness that shared wavelength that they realise how deep their connection is

Harry kind of proposes by accident, when talking about Ron and Hermione’s wedding he mentions he doesn’t want theirs to be nearly that big and then panics because he hasn’t actually asked her but Luna doesn’t bat an eyelid and just agrees and carries on the conversation

he still buys a ring and proposes properly later, though

they consider eloping, but in the end hold a small, intimate, very spontaneous ceremony on a beach with just their closest friends and family, and it’s all very lowkey - the papers go mad the next time they’re photographed together and are wearing wedding rings

Luna often plays up her reputation for ‘looniness’ when they’re ambushed by reporters to shield Harry from the intrusiveness and make him laugh

when he’s older and has worked through some of his trauma, Harry decides to leave the Aurors and becomes Hogwart’s DADA teacher - he and Luna set up home between Hogwarts and Hogsmeade, where Harry can get to the school easily and Luna has enough space for the magical creatures she works with

Luna personally decorates every room in the house 

together they set up a home for abused and orphaned students to have somewhere to go to during the school holidays

Harry does most of the cooking, and when he doesn’t have the pressure of Aunt Petunia breathing down his neck comes to find it’s actually quite a relaxing hobby

they have four children - James, Lorcan, Lily and Pandora - and they’re a really close, tight-knit unit; Harry has never felt as happy or at peace as he does on the evenings when he’s sat with Luna in his arms, watching their kids play

anyone who thinks luna lovegood is capable of dressing in fashionable, or even vaguely matching, clothes has a fundamental misunderstanding of her character
